A Charlotte-based commercial real estate development group has purchased an industrial warehouse center on 34 acres near the port in North Charleston.

Beacon Partners purchased the North Rhett Commerce Center located near the North Charleston Container Terminal. The 511,891-square-foot warehouse facility houses Husqvarna Professional Products and Integris Logistics as tenants, the company said in a news release.

The company plans to make renovations and improvements to the property over the coming months to improve energy efficiency, appearance and functionality. The company has 8 million square feet of industrial and office property in the Carolinas, but this is Beacon’s first acquisition in the Charleston area.

“We’ve been studying the Charleston industrial market for some time,” said Chip Stanley, who works in acquisitions with Beacon Partners. “North Rhett Commerce Center presented a solid opportunity and location to capitalize on very positive developments with the Port of Charleston, a diverse manufacturing base and advanced security industries in the Charleston region.”
