Lowcountry companies receive $177M in Army Corps contracts

Army Corps of Engineers districts awarded contracts to two Lowcountry companies for dredging and other work, the Department of Defense announced last week.

Marinex Construction Inc. received a $17.9 million contract to dredge the Savannah and Brunswick Inner Harbor. Marinex will perform the work in Savannah and expects to finish in December. The Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District awarded the contract.

The Army Corps of Engineers Huntsville District awarded Infotec Systems Corp. and four other companies a $160 million contract to provide services for access control point systems and other systems. Each order will determine work location, and the companies expect work to finish in December 2017.
