A Folly Beach hospitality company added the Vendue Inn to its holdings last week, which includes another hotel, a restaurant and a vacation rental company in the French West Indies.

In the acquisition, Avocet Hospitality Group received the 66-room boutique inn, Library Restaurant and Rooftop Bar, according to a news release. The company purchased the properties from Vendue Inn Associates LLC.

“We are excited and thankful for the opportunity to provide our guests a truly great hotel experience in the heart of historic Charleston,” Avocet Hospitality Group President Jonathan Weitz said in a statement. “The Vendue Inn has a long history of providing excellent customer service and is a market leader in terms of displaying true Southern hospitality. We look forward to continuing the great work of the previous owner, Vendue Inn Associates LLC.”

The inn is located at 19 Vendue Range, adjacent to Charleston’s Waterfront Park. Weitz said he grew up three blocks from the inn and is excited to own the property and introduce visitors to it.

“Charleston has and will always be my home,” Weitz said. “It is an honor and a privilege to be able to welcome guests to the Vendue Inn and let them experience all the wonderful attributes of Charleston.”

Avocet Hospitality Group also owns the Tides Hotel and Blu Restaurant and Bar, both on Folly Beach; and Avocet Properties, a vacation rental company on Folly Beach. Outside of the Lowcountry, the group owns a vacation rental company in St. Barthelemy, French West Indies.
