The Old Village Post House will host a Feast of Seven Fishes, a long-standing Italian tradition of eating seafood on Christmas Eve. The event is 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12. The restaurant will serve seafood dishes paired with wines from Austria, France, California and Italy. The dinner includes courses of Boquerone, Nantucket Bay scallop ceviche, pan-fried sunburst trout, cast-iron seared tile fish and grilled octopus. The dinner is $75 plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required; call 843-388-8935. The Old Village Post House is located at 101 Pitt St. in Mount Pleasant.


Circa 1886 will host a special dinner featuring storyteller Tim Lowry at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12. Lowry will lead diners back in time with his rendition of Charles Dickens’ famous novella, A Christmas Carol. The 11th annual Dickens Dinner includes a four-course dinner prepared by Chef Marc Collins. Cost is $70 per person plus tax and gratuity. Beverages are not included. To make reservations, call 843-853-7828. Circa 1886 is set inside the historic carriage house at the Wentworth Mansion hotel, 149 Wentworth St. in Charleston.

Circa 1886 restaurant and Charming Inns are hosting the 27th annual Charleston Holiday Progressive Dinner. Diners board carriages and travel to three locations for a holiday dining experience. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres at Historic Kings Courtyard at 198 King St., then continues with a three-course dinner at Circa 1886 at 149 Wentworth St., and concludes with coffee and dessert at Historic John Rutledge House Inn at 116 Broad St. Horse-drawn carriages will provide transportation for all guests to each location.

Dates for the dinner are Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 3-8, 10-11, 13-15, 17-18, and 20-22. The cost is $95 per person, excluding beverages. Payment must be received seven days prior to the dinner, and there is a 72-hour cancellation policy. To make a reservation, call 843-853-7828.
