Shari Baker has been named CEO of Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health after serving as the organization’s interim CEO since March.

The organization offers mental health and substance abuse treatment services in the Charleston, Summerville and the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. The treatment facility’s parent company, Universal Health Services Inc., also operates facilities in the Midlands, Upstate and Aiken.

Baker has been serving as interim CEO and managing director after the resignation of Cherie D. Tolley. Previously, Baker served as the COO for Three Rivers Behavioral Health in West Columbia, which also is owned by Universal Health Services. The company said she helped in the expansion of the facility during her 14 years there.
