The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic gave a $19.8 million multiple-award contract to two Lowcountry businesses and 12 other companies.

Ishpi in Mount Pleasant and Sparc in Charleston will compete for task orders associated with the contract, which calls for electronics and communications equipment and services to provide surveillance, intelligence and reconnaissance.

The contract includes options that could increase its value to $98.8 million. The companies will perform the work worldwide, and SPAWAR expects it to be done by November 2013. If all options are exercised, work could continue to November 2017.
