Myvett is the second campus president in the school’s history.

He previously served five years at the Art Institutes of Pittsburgh and Atlanta as the vice president and senior director of admissions. Most recently, he served The Art Institutes system of schools as vice president of admissions.

He also served as president of two other Art Institute campuses, in Austin, Texas and Phoenix.

“I am excited to be joining the excellent team at The Art Institute of Charleston with our shared commitment to serving our students as they work to achieve their educational goals,” Myvett said. “Since its founding, The Art Institute of Charleston has become an integral part of the cultural and arts community and I will continue to build on that tradition.”

In May, former president Rick Jerue stepped down from the role he held since the Charleston location opened in 2006.

The Art Institute of Charleston is a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta.
