Charleston-based sports apparel company Savage Ultimate is opening its first storefront on Morrison Drive. As an extension of the company’s sales office, the retail space will include athletic jerseys, shorts, hoodies, hats and T-shirts.

On Monday, Larry and Shannon Gillespie will open a new store at 318 King St. in Charleston. Campo Marzio Design is an Italian company that designs and produces leather accessories, writing instruments and paper goods.

The store will offer one of-a-kind items, as well as seasonal collections, according to a press release. As the first dedicated U.S. store, this location is one of 50 sites worldwide.

Founded by Todd Curran in 2009, Savage specializes in custom sports apparel. After starting out in the ultimate Frisbee market, Savage has expanded to create custom apparel for soccer, roller derby, hockey, lacrosse, cycling and, most recently, Quidditch teams. Savage specializes in screen-printed, sublimated and embroidered apparel. The company opened a Los Angeles branch in August.

The grand opening celebration is 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at 1051 Morrison Drive, Charleston.
