Collett, a commercial real estate firm based in Charlotte, said Tuesday it will open a Greenville office to serve as its base for expansion across South Carolina.

Founded in 1987, Collett currently manages approximately 6 million square feet of commercial space in eight states and has developed more than 95 projects totaling 14 million square feet, according to a press release.

Collett employs 40 real estate professionals to provide asset management, development, construction management, accounting, lease administration and investment sales brokerage.

The firm’s Upstate office will be located in the newly renovated NOMA Tower at the Hyatt at 220 N. Main St. in downtown Greenville. The firm expects to be operational by Sept. 1.

“We anticipate strong growth and opportunity in the Upstate region, particularly in the areas of brokerage, real estate management, tenant representation and development,” said Collett Managing Partner Charles E. Ellis Jr., in a press release.

Greg Carter, Bill Runge and Cortney Carter will lead the Upstate office.

Greg Carter and Runge are Greenville natives who have worked together for more than 20 years, most recently with Hughes Commercial Properties. They also once worked for NAI Earle Furman and CBRE-The Furman Co.

Cortney Carter began her real estate career with Cushman & Wakefield in Washington, D.C., before relocating to Greenville in 2006 to join Hughes Commercial Properties.
