My Sister's House presents the fourth annual Bubbly and Brew sponsored by Lucey Mortgage Corp. from 7-11 p.m. Sept. 28 at Harborside East in Mount Pleasant. Guests will dine on food from Home Team BBQ, High Thyme Cuisine, Rue de Jean, Long Island Cafe, The Glass Onion, Cafe Medley and Kudzu Bakery while sipping champagne, wine and beers from local brewers. Additionally, there will be an auction and live music from Love Butter. Tickets are $60 in advance or $75 at the door.
My Sister's House is a shelter-based program serving domestic violence victims in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. The money raised will be used to continue to help women and children live violence-free.
Sea Island Habitat for Humanity is hosting its 17th annual golf benefit Sept. 16 at The Kiawah Island Club’s Cassique course. The event starts at noon. Proceeds will fund a home for a family in need. Prizes include TaylorMade Rocketballz drivers, pro shop credits and a $40,000 hole-in-one prize. Tickets are $350 and include a gift, boxed lunch, golf, cart and receptions after the day’s outing. Whitney’s, 917 Houston Northcutt Blvd. in Mount Pleasant, will hold a March of Dimes evening 5-7 p.m. Thursday. A portion of Whitney’s sales will benefit the Lowcountry March of Dimes. Local author Jan DiRuzzo will be signing copies of her children’s book, The Lost Mermaid — A Shem Creek Moonlight Jamboree.

The school supply drive was part of the 11th annual Platinum Party School Supply Drive. The school supplies were donated to the North Charleston Little League Baseball and Softball program at the Aug. 18 Charleston RiverDogs game. The program has more than 100 children ages 4 to 13 years old.
Children's Museum of the Lowcountry is hosting a lecture series in partnership with Darkness to Light and led by Dr. Trish Hutchison, co-founder of Girlology & Guyology. Child care will be provided.
