ReadyNation director to speak at quarterly chamber meeting

The director of ReadyNation, along with representatives from Boeing and Michelin, will speak at the Charleston Chamber of Commerce’s quarterly meeting Monday on the role of the business community in early childhood education.

The Charleston Chamber of Commerce’s quarterly meeting will be held Aug. 8 from 7:30 -9 a.m. at the Crystal Ballroom, Charleston Marriott Hotel. It costs $20 in advance for Chamber members only, and $25 at the door. Register here.

Sara Watson of ReadyNation will be the primary speaker, joined by panelists Herb Johnson, director of community relations for Michelin North America, and Christine Ray, of Boeing S.C.’s Global Corporate Citizenship network.

Early childhood investments are critical to keeping Charleston competitive, the chamber said in a news release.

ReadyNation promotes early childhood education within the business community. It urges businesses to get more involved with childhood policies and programs to help improve the future workforce.

The chamber’s quarterly meetings feature speakers that address regional, business and community topics.
