The Southeast Tourism Society recognized Michael Tall, president and COO of Mount Pleasant-based Charlestowne Hotels, among its list of the tourism industry’s promising young leaders.
The organization’s Forty for the Future: Travel’s Leading Talent nominees were chosen by a panel of industry experts based on their contribution to the travel and tourism industry.

He was one of two professionals from South Carolina honored by the Southeast Tourism Society. Phil Shirley, director of Oconee County Parks, Recreation and Tourism, also made the list.
The nominees had to be younger than 40 and work in the tourism industry. Nominations were not limited to the 12-member states of Southeast Tourism Society, and those chosen came from across 14 states.
The organization will recognize the nominees during a special presentation at its fall forum in Virginia Beach, Va., Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
The Southeast Tourism Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion and development of tourism throughout the Southeast.
