Renovations to the Trident Breast Care Center have been completed, expanding the facility by 3,800 square feet.

The campus, located at 9313 Medical Plaza Drive in North Charleston, will open its doors to the public on June 28.

Total square footage increased from 5,000 to 8,800 square feet, and renovations included the addition of a private waiting area for patients only.

“It’s very private and has a serene atmosphere,” said Jodi Barteet, medical imaging director of the center. “It’s very calming.”

Light color schemes and available coffee, tea and hot chocolate were used to help create a calm atmosphere for patients.

Patients can receive mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies and bone density testing at the facility.
