Lowcountry businesses to compete for Department of Defense contracts

Two Lowcountry businesses are competing for Department of Defense contracts worth nearly $159 million total, according to a news release.

The U.S. Navy chose North Charleston-based Small Business Group and four other contractors to compete for task orders associated with building projects at a Marine Corps base in Albany, Ga. The work includes construction, renovation and demolition for administrative, training, dormitory and other facilities. The maximum dollar value of the contracts is worth $60 million.

Ishpi Information Technologies in Mount Pleasant is one of several companies to compete for a Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic contract that could be worth as much as $98.7 million. The contract calls for electronics for command, communications and surveillance hardware plus IT solutions to operate and defend military networks and data. The companies will perform the work in Charleston.
