Arborgen, a company with a Summerville location that specializes in commercial forestry, is donating 1,600 tree seedlings to the Flight 93 National Memorial Park in Somerset County, Pa.
The park memorializes Flight 93 which crashed during a coordinated terrorist attack in 2001. Already 15,000 trees have been planted in the empty fields surrounding the area where the plane went down. The planting also serves to reforest an area which has been stripped of trees due to surface mining.
Since April, volunteers have undertaken the task of planting a planned 150,000 trees in the 2,220-acre park.
