Women’s retailer dressbarn is embarking on its ninth year as an American Cancer Society Relay For Life National Team. As part of the company's commitment to help raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society, dressbarn stores nationwide will sell the 2012 signature Hope Bracelet. The bracelet will be available at the dressbarn at the Tanger Outlet Center in North Charleston beginning May 1. The bracelets sell for $10 with the entire net revenue of $5 going to the American Cancer Society.

J’Lynn Dewese, 9, was inspired to start a jewelry business after watching the ABC series Shark Tank and seeing another young entrepreneur tell how she began her bottle cap jewelry business when she was only 10. Through her business, Planet JD, Dewese partners with nonprofit organizations, schools and other groups to create custom jewelry designs to raise money and awareness for nonprofits. Launched on April 25, Planet JD has partnered with South Carolina Advocates For Epilepsy to create a customized bottle cap necklace to bring awareness to epilepsy and raise funds.
