Force Protection delivered its first Stryker double-v hull to the U.S. Army this week, General Dynamics Land Systems announced today.

Force Protection began installing combat-related equipment on 292 Strykers earlier in April. Employees in Ladson are performing the work, and the Port of Charleston will ship the completed vehicles to Afghanistan.

Workers are installing communication, protection and situational-awareness equipment on the Strykers, and work will be finished in January 2013.

Force Protection completed its $360 million merger with General Dynamics in December.
