A Charleston-area startup received a $200,000 infusion of cash from SC Launch last week.
ISI developed an innovation for electric water heaters that delivers the best energy, water and space savings, SCRA said in a news release. The company’s technology solves the quality and reliability shortcomings of existing products and provides highly accurate temperature control from low to high flow rates, SCRA said.
ISI founder and chairman Jerry Callahan and president and CEO Thomas Conroy said the company was thankful to have resources available to grow in South Carolina.
“We are delighted to be the recipient of this support as we work aggressively to bring our product to market, which saves significant amounts of energy and water compared to existing water heating technologies,” Callahan said.
Also during the event at the Innovation Center, philanthropist and InterTech Group chairman and CEO Anita Zucker was given an SCRA Knowledge Economist Award for her commitment to South Carolina’s innovation economy.
“SCRA is committed to the continued growth of South Carolina's knowledge economy, and we are delighted to recognize these achievements this evening,” said SCRA CEO Bill Mahoney. “We offer congratulations to ISI Technology, an emerging innovative company, and to Anita Zucker, a business and civic leader who has demonstrated time and time again her commitment to South Carolina. It is through the efforts and leadership of individuals such as Jerry Callahan, Thomas Conroy and Anita Zucker, paired with the right resources and support, that we will realize continued growth of our knowledge economy.”
