Locals can “do the Charleston” this Valentine’s Day by taking a trip back in time to the 1920s courtesy of Limos for Less Charleston. The local limo company is inviting couples to ride in style in their new 1929 green Chevy — complete with a string of pearls for the ladies and a fedora for the guys — for a Valentine’s Day blast from the past. As part of the Do the Charleston Valentine’s package, Limos for Less Charleston will pick up a couple at their home Feb. 14, let them peruse a front page paper from 1929 during the ride while donning their pearls and hat and then deliver them to their Valentine’s destination. A photographer will take a black and white photo of the couple in their retro get-up as a keepsake. They’ll also receive a $25 gift certificate to The Gin Joint, the 1920s-style speakeasy on East Bay Street, which was recently featured in Garden & Gun magazine as one of the top 50 southern bars. The package includes the return ride home. Pick up times are limited; call 843-965-5466. Pricing is $300 for two passengers and is available to customers within the Charleston metro area.
