A regional accounting firm with eight offices across the state has named a new managing partner.

Debra A. Turner, who joined the firm in a merger in 2000, will take over as the top executive for Florence-based WebsterRogers LLP on Jan. 1, the company said in a news release. Turner will succeed V. Carroll Webster, who has served as managing partner for more than 27 years.

“In her new role as managing partner, Ms. Turner will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of WebsterRogers,” the news release said. “The move is part of WebsterRogers’ overall succession strategy, which will have Mr. Webster remain with the firm in a consulting capacity.”

Turner was elected to WebsterRogers’ executive committee in 2008 and has served since 2000 as the partner-in-charge of the Lowcountry Economic Unit that includes offices in Charleston and Summerville. Those offices provide tax planning and consulting primarily to clients in the health care industry.

While serving as managing partner, Webster presided over an expansion that took WebsterRogers from one office in Florence to a regional firm with eight offices across South Carolina. Today, the company has more than 125 employees, including 21 partners.
