Walter Isaacson, tapped to write the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs' biography, will share the innovator's story of how he ushered in personal computing and mobile technology, on Nov. 29 at the University of South Carolina.

Titled "Steve Jobs," the lecture is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Campus Room of Capstone House.

Isaacson (left) will sign books after the lecture at 8 p.m. Books will be available for purchase in the University Bookstore and at the event, which is free. Seating is limited; early arrival is encouraged.

The event is part of the Darla Moore School of Business' Wells Fargo Lecture Series.

While in Columbia, Isaacson also will be featured at the Liberty Fellowship Summit, which will take place Nov. 30, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Issacson's talk at the summit will focus on ways to advance South Carolina economically. Details for that event are online at this website.

As Jobs' authorized biographer, Isaacson conducted more than 40 interviews with the Apple innovator. In an Oct. 21 book review, the New York Times said Jobs' story "calls for a book that is clear, elegant and concise enough to qualify as an iBio. Mr. Isaacson's 'Steve Jobs' does its solid best to hit that target."

In addition to "Steve Jobs," Isaacson has written biographies on Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin and Henry Kissinger. He is the president and CEO of the Aspen Institute and a former chairman and CEO of CNN and a managing editor of TIME magazine.

Isaacson spoke at USC's May 2007 commencement and was awarded an honorary doctor of humanities degree.
