The Center for Women will host New Marketing Methods - Social Media as Marketing Tool from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the center’s location at 129 Cannon St.
The cost of the event is $20 for Center for Women members and $30 for non members.

Art For Charity will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Michael Mitchell Gallery at 438 King St.
The event features various original works from regional artists in the gallery. There also will be music from D&M Productions.
A $10 donation at the door is requested. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Charleston Waterkeeper.
Another Art For Charity event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Michael Mitchell Gallery.
Proceeds from that event will be donated to the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center.

The Charleston County Public Library with the Charleston Coastal Chapter of SCORE will be hosting Small Business Counseling from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, on the second floor of the main library at 68 Calhoun St. in downtown Charleston.
SCORE members will be available to provide free, confidential counseling for startup ideas or existing businesses.

Fifty-two South Carolina schools, including nine from Charleston and Berkeley counties, each recently received $3,000 grants to help plant on-site gardens aimed at getting more fresh fruits and vegetables into school lunchrooms.
Students at these schools will take lead roles in developing the gardens, and grant funds will be used to purchase everything from seeds and planting soil to gardening tools.
Student gardeners will be coached by representatives from the South Carolina Department of Agriculture and Clemson University, and food grown in the gardens will be used for students to sample in school cafeterias and classrooms. To learn more, go online.

Film Meets Fashion, benefiting Make-A-Wish of South Carolina, will be held from 6-10 p.m. June 23 at Memminger Auditorium.
The event includes a free cocktail hour from 6-7 p.m., a silent auction, featuring Andy Warhol’s “Howdy Doody,” a fashion show and other entertainment.
An after party will follow at 10 p.m. at LEAF, located at 15 Beaufain St.
Tickets are $35 for general admission and $75 for VIP and can be purchased online.

Young & Free South Carolina, powered by South Carolina Federal Credit Union, has partnered with Water Missions International to donate a clean water purification system to Musubi, Uganda.
Two other organizations — Water for Africa and Hands4others — also partnered with Water Missions International to provide safe water. As a result, these organizations and Young & Free South Carolina have contributed $31,000 to Water Missions International.

The American Red Cross announced that MeadWestvaco is expanding its support of community preparedness by sponsoring the Save a Life Campaign and funding a Red Cross disaster trailer.
The $25,000 donation includes giving rural residents the opportunity to take free compression-only CPR classes.
The first free Citizen CPR class will be taught by Red Cross certified instructors Saturday at the Hollywood Town Hall.

Donations provides for a disaster trailer, filled with relief materials, to be placed in rural areas for access by the Red Cross in the event of a disaster.
