A Charleston staffing agency was named the fastest-growing company in the region for 2011 at an event Thursday night attended by several hundred business and community leaders.
After recognizing 19 other companies for outstanding performance during a special ceremony at the Charleston Marriott, the Charleston Regional Business Journal announced Aerotek as the top company of the Roaring 20.
“Charleston is being watched by the rest of the Carolinas,” said event host Chris William, the executive producer of Carolina Business Review, which is syndicated to 22 Public Broadcasting Service markets. “It’s not just a Boeing announcement.”
Last year’s Roaring 20 winner, digital data marketing company Levelwing, which is based in Mount Pleasant with offices in New York, was the No. 2 company this year.
The annual awards honor the fastest-growing companies in the Charleston region by using a formula that considers dollar amounts and percentage increases in revenue for two years. Companies submitted their financial information, which was analyzed by accounting firm Dixon Hughes.
