• Coordinates efforts of the volunteer committee and staff to produce the annual Walk for Water, an educational and fundraising event with attendance of 2,000-2,500 people. Coordinates requests for speakers, third-party fundraisers, demonstrations and educational materials for businesses, schools, corporations, families, churches and other interested groups. Gives presentations and tours of Water
Missions International headquarters to schools, clubs and churches. Also assists with donor care, and communication and development of relationships with potential donors and ministry partners.

Community involvement
• Contributes a biweekly column about nonprofits, community involvement and philanthropy to the Charleston Mercury.
• Junior League of Charleston.
• St. Michael’s Church. Usher for 6 p.m. service. Serves on Cursillo committee and periodically helps organize Gate events (activities for the 20s and 30s group).

What made you select your chosen profession? Working in nonprofit development gives me a chance to connect people in our community and around the United States who want to make a meaningful and lasting difference with people worldwide who lack such basic needs as safe water.

What is the best career advice you’ve ever been given? Good communication is more important than anything else.

Favorite music artist / musical genre: Beach music.

Best stress reliever:
A hug from my husband.

Person you would like to meet: My paternal grandmother, who passed away just before I was born.
