A new Jersey Mike’s Subs is opening in Summerville and is hosting a grand opening Wednesday. To celebrate the new restaurant, it is hosting a fundraiser Wednesday through Sunday, with proceeds going toward Summerville Elementary School.

Jersey Mike’s will give a free regular size sub to anyone who has a special fundraising coupon and donates $1, which will go toward the school. Coupons are being distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.

Franchisee Ryan Delman and his business partners Taylor Burford and David Snipes said they wanted to reach out to the community that the new restaurant will be serving.

“From the beginning, Taylor wanted to share Jersey Mike’s with his hometown,” said Delman, who owns Jersey Mike’s in Charleston and Savannah. Burford, 24, of Summerville, was born and raised in the town. Delman, 34, and Snipes, 25, live in Charleston.

The sub shop is located at 310B Azalea Square Blvd. in Summerville. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
