Businesses seeking contracts with the federal government can learn about opportunities and requirements at upcoming workshops sponsored by the University of South Carolina Small Business Development Center.
The center offers training from 9 to 11:30 a.m. every third Thursday of the month. Upcoming workshops are Oct. 15 and Nov. 19.
Particpants will learn:
· About the products and services purchased by the military and large prime contractors in South Carolina.
· Steps necessary for particpating in government contracting.
· How to identify bid opportunities online.
· How to market business products and services to key contacts.
· About set-aside programs for businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans and for businesses in historically underutilized business zones.
The workshops are free, but registration is required. Call 843-740-6160 or send an e-mail.
The workshops are held at the Small Business Development Center, in the Bank of America Building at 5900 Core Drive in North Charleston.
