Hagemeyer North America, with the support of three of key supplier partners, has donated more than $12,000 worth of products and services in an energy-efficient lighting redesign project for the S.C. Historical Society in Charleston.
The S.C. Historical Society operates in the historic Robert Mills Fireproof Building at 100 Meeting St. Built in 1822, the structure’s interior and exterior were renovated in 2002, but the lighting had not been updated for decades.
The organization hired Hagemeyer to perform a lighting audit of the building. Richard Hutson, S.C. Historical Society board manager, said the group wanted aesthetically pleasing fixtures that provided brighter light; longer-life bulbs to avoid time-consuming and sometimes precarious bulb changes; and, most important, energy-efficient products.
The company found a way to meet those goals and offered to supply the needed products and services with help from three vendors: Philips Lighting, Philips Advance and Veolia.
