Paint and play
Eye Level Art is interweaving modern art with local jazz group Gradual Lean Quartet in a unique experience Sept. 12. The quartet, made up of jazz heavyweights Charlton Singleton (pictured), Kevin Hamilton, Quentin Baxter and Lee Barbour, will be playing at the new modern gallery on Spring Street and artists Chris Dotson and Scott Debus will be painting along to their performance. Hot date
Take the opportunity to wine and dine some of the city's bachelors and bachelorettes for a good cause. The second annual Bachelor Bid Bash is going on Saturday at the Music Farm. Place your bids on any of 30 local singles in the bachelor and bachelorette live auction, or bid on items in the silent auction, including a Myrtle Beach golf package. You can also enjoy an open bar, appetizers and live entertainment. The event runs from 7-11 p.m. Tickets are $40, or $70 for couples, and proceeds benefit Jaycee Camp Hope. Dog day afternoon
Whirlin' Waters Adventure Waterpark at North Charleston Wannamaker County Park is opening its gates Sunday for four-pawed friends in the area. The water park is hosting its first Dog Day Afternoon from noon to 6 p.m. Large dogs can swim in the Big Kahuna wave pool, and smaller dogs can take a dip in the Otter Bay kiddie pool. (Leave your suit at home, though - owners aren't allowed in the water.) Advance tickets are $10 per dog, or $8 for Charleston County canines. Sweet 185 , a body sugaring studio and organic boutique, is reopening in its new space and throwing a party tonight to celebrate. Fall into Mozart
Chamber Music Charleston is celebrating classical music this weekend in its inaugural Mozart in the South festival. Musicians from Chamber Music Charleston (pictured) , the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and special guests will be performing Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Tchaikovsky. The opening concert is tonight at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church on King Street. At 7 p.m. Friday, pianist Andrew Armstrong will play with the orchestra at the Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul. Then, at 10 a.m. Saturday, bring the family to the Little Mozart Circus at Marion Square. The festival concludes with a 4 p.m. concert Sunday at St. Matthew's. Prices vary. Cut a rug
The next Concert on the Cooper is Saturday at the Mount Pleasant Pier. Party band Super Deluxe will be lighting up the stage with live dance music and party tunes. Band members have shared the stage with musicians such as Hootie and the Blowfish, Edwin McCain and the Black Crowes. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and the music starts at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $8, and tickets can be purchased starting at 3 p.m. Saturday in the pier gift shop or at the door. Anniversary party
Come celebrate three years of Green Drinks Charleston at an all-day block party Sunday at Fuel Charleston (pictured). Rock the Block
Area colleges are getting together Saturday night to throw a block party for college students in Charleston. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., the area of George Street between Coming and St. Philip streets will have live music, a climbing wall, a mechanical bull, food and sodas and a chance to meet other college students. The party is hosted by the Community College Coalition (College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, The Citadel and Trident Tech) to promote alcohol-free activities. There is no charge to attend.

The next installment of the Style Swap is tonight at Eye Level Art. Bring one gently worn, fashionable clothing item on a hanger as well as an accessory, and then check out the other sartorial gems brought by fellow shoppers. While there, enjoy hors d'oeuvres from Halls Chop House and wine from Social Wine Bar . You can also get a mini makeover, a massage and a gift bag with makeup treats at the Stella Nova Beauty Station. Charleston magazine style editor Ayoka Lucas will be emceeing the event, which runs from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $20 at the door. Proceeds benefit the Center for Women.
Eco-epicurious
Lowcountry Earth Force is luring epicureans to Turning Leaf Studio in Avondale on Friday for a night of eco-friendly fun. From 7 to 9 p.m., watch Chef Akai's cooking demonstrations and sample the results, which will use local produce and products from Rosebank Farms and Normandy Farm Artisan Bakery. New Belgium Brewery will be providing the cold drinks, and the Toasted Beets will be providing the live music. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door.
