Seafood symphony
Wild DunesTake advantage of the area's proximity to the ocean with a six-course meal highlighting fresh, local seafood. Wild Dunes Resort is hosting a Sustainable Seafood Dinner from 6 to 10 tonight. Guests start out with cocktails at The Lettered Olive before heading over to the Sea Island Grill for dinner. The menu will include oysters with Grey Goose mignonette, lump crabmeat with a roasted corn flan, lobster bisque, seared scallops, wreckfish tartare, halibut bouillabaisse with mussels and shrimp, and dessert. All courses will be paired with Perception Wines from the Russian River Valley. Tickets are $65 per person, including wine, tax and gratuity. Reservations are required; call 843-886-2241.

Can it for a cold one
Taco Boy is trading cold beers and salsa trios for canned food items. All this week, the restaurant's outpost on Folly Beach is hosting a Friends of Folly Food Drive. The restaurant is giving away a Tecate beer or a salsa appetizer if you bring in three canned food items to be donated to the Lowcountry Food Bank. Live music will be playing every night this week. Then, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Taco Boy caps off the food drive with a customer appreciation event, including a raffle of several items for people who participated. Trident United Way brings together local professionals harboring rock star dreams to play against each other in a friendly Battle of the Bands tonight at the  Music Farm. As part of the entry requirement, each of the 13 bands partnered with a United Way charity in a volunteer project. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. A $10 cover and a business card gets you in to enjoy the music plus all you can eat and drink. The battle goes until 11 p.m. For more information, go online.

Moonlight Movies
Moonlight MoviesCinebarre is having a backyard cookout and showing a movie Saturday night. Fight Club, the movie starring Brad Pitt and Ed Norton adapted from the Chuck Palahniuk book of the same name, will start at 9 p.m. outside of Cinebarre. Bring your own blankets, lawn chairs or whatever you want to spread out on, and enjoy the movie with surround sound in Cinebarre's outdoor amphitheatre. The cookout starts at 8:30 p.m. and will include burgers, hot dogs, chips and cookies. Beer, sodas and popcorn will also be sold. There is no charge for the movie. For more information, go online.

Raise your glass for good stuff tonight at Green Drinks Charleston's Going Green for the Girls cocktail hour at Halls Chophouse. Sample food from the restaurant, enjoy cocktail specials from the bar and help raise money for the Center for Women 's green initiative, to help fund energy efficiency upgrades and retrofits to its downtown building. The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the suggested donation is $10 cash or check at the door.

Beach concert
The Fire ApesHead to The Windjammer on the Isle of Palms at 8 p.m. Friday for a jam session for cancer awareness. Five bands will play to benefit Roper St. Francis Cancer Center and Dragon Boat Charleston. The Fire Apes , with a sound similar to the Beatles and The Pretenders, top the bill. Also playing are blues rockers Steel Petals; jazz/funk artists the Almost Brothers Band; classic rockers The Hed Shop Boys; and Super Deluxe, which has played with Hootie and the Blowfish and the Black Crowes. Tickets are $10 in advance or at the door.

Scoop Studios is throwing a Welcome Home party for its newest artist, Julio Cotto, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Cotto, who was most recently in the Upstate, has a distinct comic and graphic edge to his paintings. He has been awarded the title of "Best Local Artist" by the Charleston City Paper. Fans, friends and colleagues are invited to drop in at Scoop and say hello. Then stick around to check out Cotto's most recent work. There is no charge to attend the party. Mystic VibrationsThe Reggae Nights Concert Series wraps up Saturday with a concert at James Island County Park. Bring its sound to the stage this week is Mystic Vibrations , which hails from Westmoreland, Jamaica. In 1992, the group went stateside, and the band members have been performing up and down the East Coast. They are currently recording their fourth album. The event also will offer Caribbean food, pizza, kettle corn and drinks for sale. Gates open at 7:30 p.m., and music starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $8, with no charge for kids younger than 12. O.A.R.O.A.R. is making its fourth concert visit to Family Circle Magazine Stadium on Saturday. Most recently, the band released its second single from All Sides, called This Town. Its first single, Shattered, continues to be on the top 40 charts. Opening for O.A.R. is singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson, whose repertoire includes folk/rock songs such as Come on Get Higher and Falling Apart . Beach TennisBeach tennis
Sure, there's always beach volleyball on the Isle of Palms, but this weekend there will be beach tennis, during the Charleston Open. Beach tennis combines tennis and beach volleyball - using the racquets from tennis and playing on beach volleyball courts. The first Beach Tennis USA tour launched in Charleston in 2005 and has traveled up the East Coast as well as to the West Coast. On Saturday and Sunday, watch professionals and amateurs play on the beach in front of The Windjammer. The action starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, with finals on Sunday. It all concludes with an after-party at 7 p.m. Sunday at The Windjammer. For more information, go online.
