Charleston AMA to host luncheon on marketing in turbulent times

The Charleston chapter of the American Marketing Association is hosting an informational luncheon to discuss “The Power of Strategic Alliances in Marketing During Turbulent Times” from noon to 1:30 p.m. on July 9 at the Charleston Marriott.

The former CMO for the American Cancer Society, Cynthia Currence, will be the featured speaker. Currence has an extensive background in qualitative research design and facilitation, marketing strategy and planning, sponsorship and cause branding.

Before spending 18 years at the American Cancer Society, Currence was the Senior VP for marketing and communications for the United Way Inc. in Los Angeles. She is currently the founder and CEO of Currence & Associates LLC, a business consulting company.

The cost for the luncheon is $15 for AMA Members and students and $25 for non- members.

I'm planning on attending! It's exciting to have a national speaking in town - especially someone with as much experience as Cynthia. As a marketing manager, I think this is a very timely topic and one that will provide insights on how to create better partnerships. After all, it's all about effectively networking these days!
