An online marketing tool designed to streamline the supply chain from S.C. seafood and other agricultural producers to consumers will be unveiled this week in Columbia.
Officials with Clemson University and the state, along with members of the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium, will talk about S.C. Market Maker at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday during “A South Carolina Taste” at the State capitol complex.
S.C. Market Maker is part of a national online network that connects the entire supply chain, including growers, fishing industry members, distributors, retailers and consumers. The effort to bring Market Maker to South Carolina has been facilitated by Clemson University Public Service Activities, the S.C. Department of Agriculture, the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Online demonstrations of how Market Maker works and the benefits it offers the state’s agriculture and seafood industries will be conducted during “A South Carolina Taste.”
