North Charleston attorney Drew Carroll is the new president of the S.C. Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Carroll, of the Joye Law Firm, was installed as president during the professional association’s annual meeting Oct. 31 in Columbia. He will oversee legal education seminars for the group and lead efforts to influence legislation that affects the criminal justice system.

Carroll leads the Joye Law Firm’s criminal defense practice team, representing clients accused of criminal offenses in state and summary courts. He has been with the firm for nine years and lectures frequently on the defense of cases charging driving under the influence.
