Amanda Jackson, Matt Hamilton and Tammy Scott have joined The Art Institute of Charleston. Jackson was hired as the schools registrar. Formerly, she was the associate registrar at The Art Institute of Charlotte, N.C. Hamilton was hired as an assistant director of admissions for the school. Originally from Spartanburg, Hamilton comes to The Art Institute from the telecom industry, working previously as an account executive for US LEC Corp. Scott was hired as the schools receptionist. She was previously a social worker in Indianapolis. The Art Institute also appointed Terry C. Fox as executive director of career and student services; Clare Kehoe as assistant director of admissions; and Christopher D. Stallard as a culinary instructor.
Frank Shannon has launched eduSearch, a new higher education executive search firm. Shannon is the former executive director of The Citadel Foundation and has more than 20 years experience in higher education.
Fortune Academy of Charleston, Mount Pleasant and Summerville has named Denise M. Stanton as vice president of operations. Stanton began her career with the company in July 2003 as the office manager.
Palmetto Behavioral Health has named McBee Zimmerman as executive director of Palmetto Pines Behavioral Health in Summerville. Prior to joining Palmetto Behavioral Health, Zimmerman was employed as director of Shelter Services with Carolina Youth Development, where she was awarded a Duke Endowment grant that afforded the organization a comprehensive family program.
Dr. Fran Tunney will serve as medical director and R. Taylor Lee will serve as CEO for Patient One Medical Center in North Charleston. Tunney brings 20 years of medical experience to his new position. Lee brings more than 15 years of experience in operations management, public relations, sales and marketing. Dr. Paul Cump also has joined Patient One as a physician. Cump has 20 years of experience.
Dr. Emily Sutcliffe has joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina. Sutcliffe is an obstetrician and gynecologist and practices at the Northwoods clinic.
Ryland Homes has hired Racheal Wolcott-King as assistant sales counselor in Nelliefield Plantation in Mount Pleasant. Wolcott-King was formerly the sales manager of Dillards in Charleston.
Jonathan Jenkins has joined Port City Renovations as a superintendent in the Mount Pleasant office. Jenkins has returned from Afghanistan where he served as an infantryman in the U.S. Army.
Salley Tyler has joined Mau Inc. as a business development account executive. Tyler brings more than 20 years of sales experience to Mau including working for the Worcester Business Journal, Accurate Staffing and Intuit Payroll Services.
The New York Yankees have announced that Charleston RiverDogs Manager Torre Tyson and Hitting Coach Greg Colbrunn will be back in Charleston next season.
Jo Cooper, a veteran Family Circle Cup volunteer, has been hired as volunteer coordinator of the 2008 Family Circle Cup.
Meghan Byrnes Weinreich has joined Crew Carolina LLC as the public relations and marketing coordinator. Previously, Weinreich spent four years as the public relations and marketing director for the Childrens Museum of the Lowcountry.
Advanced Chromatography Systems has promoted Alan M. Goldkin to business manager for U.S. operations and Adam E. Zapiecki to senior instrument engineer. Goldkin joined the company in September on an interim basis and Zapiecki has been with the company since January 2007.

With Charleston-based Advertising Service Agency merging with Columbia- based Chernoff Newman under the Chernoff Newman name, six employees were given new leadership positions. Peter Wertimer, former chairman of ASA, and Larry Jones, former president and chief operating officer of ASA, have become shareholders in Chernoff Newman. Wertimer was named president of the merged firms advertising division and Jones as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Mark Newsome has been named senior vice president and chief client services officer. Tye Price was selected as vice president of marketing strategy. The role of creative director will be shared by Heather Price of Chernoff Newmans Columbia branch and Geoff Allen, formerly of ASA.
