Susan Lucas of Mount Pleasant has purchased The French Hare Gallery and Galleria, at 418 King St. The French Hare offers home furnishings, accessories, artwork and gifts. It was established in Vail, Colo., and relocated to Charleston in 2004.

Julie Ann Oldham joined Coastal Cigars as director of sales and marketing. Previously, she worked at the Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Carolina Lanterns & Accessories promoted Beth Clark to showroom manager. Her new duties include purchasing, showroom design, inside sales management and training coordination.

Hampden Clothing opened at 357 King St. Owned by Stacy Smallwood, the boutique will feature a mix of pieces from cutting-edge designers and classic wardrobe staples. Hampden Clothing hired Lisa Roney as store manager and Candy Romeo as sales manager. Roney previously worked for Copper Penny Shooz as store manager. Romeo previously worked for Copper Penny Shooz and Gathering Floral and Event Design.

Joe Salvo, the broker-in-charge of Seabrook Island Real Estate, has launched Kiawah Bohicket Real Estate to serve Kiawah, Wadamalaw and Johns islands. Kiawah Bohicket Real Estate is a partner company to Seabrook Island Real Estate.

Courtney Parades and Lauren Kinard have opened Fini Event Planning.

Meg and Rod Merritt opened an office of a Las Vegas-based Trade Show Navigators LLC in Moncks Corner. The company, which specializes in trade show displays and accessories, is an authorized distributor for exhibit manufacturers such as Nomadic Display, Classic Exhibits and ExpoDisplays.

Jodi Moylan, a fashion designer and owner of Bridals by Jodi in Charleston, recently opened WHITE on Daniel Island, which features bridal, prom and special occasion fashions.

Angie Bell joined Harbor National Bank as a commercial loan officer.

SunTrust Mortgage Inc. hired Amy Edwards as a mortgage loan consultant. Edwards has more than five years of experience in the real estate financing industry.

Eric Whiteside has joined CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business, as a field sales representative for the state of South Carolina. He will be based in Charleston. Whiteside has more than 10 years experience working with the tax and accounting industry.

Dixon Hughes hired Chance Massey as an accountant in the tax department, Susie Perry as an intern in the tax department and Tracey Poirier, currently an intern, as a full-time accountant in the Summerville office pending her graduation in May.

AgentOwned Realty hired Bill Wilson as an agent in its Isle of Palms office, located at 1400 Palm Blvd.

Jason Jolly joined Coldwell Banker Commercial Atlantic International. He has been a licensed real estate broker for four years.

Alana Richey of Charleston has been hired as director of sales for The Settings of Mackay Point. Richey will work from The Settings Discovery Center in Yemassee. Prior to joining The Settings, Richey owned a real estate company in Charleston that focused on land acquisitions for builders and developers.

Todd Garrett joined the commercial real estate sales division of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Co. Garrett, who is fluent in Spanish, founded MicroCapital, a Peruvian microcredit company, and served as the president of Medical Missions of Iquitos, Peru.

Lynn Riley joined Atlantic Island Properties Inc. on Johns Island as a sales agent.

Beazer Homes hired Karen Garrett as director of finance, Kate Creech as assistant new home counselor and Julie Marcey as new home information specialist. Previously, Creech was district sales leader for Frito Lay. Garrett served as a manager in the audit and controls department in the Beazer corporate office. Marcey was employed by AgentOwned Realty.

Brooks Jenkins joined Riley & Associates Inc. as a producer. Jenkins has 17 years of experience in the commercial property and casualty insurance business.

Cingular Wireless assigned Samuel B. Ware as sales manager for its new Mount Pleasant location. Ware has worked for Cingular as a store manager in Southern Pines, N.C., and Lexington, S.C.

Dawn Riordan joined Sprint/Nextel’s Charleston office. Riordan has worked in the telecommunications field for more than 15 years.

Citadel Contractors Inc., a tilt-up construction specialist, hired Sue Bowen as the new office manager in its Wando branch. Bowen brings 10 years of construction and customer relations experience to the position.

Kathy Lane and Marty Johnson joined Berenyi Inc.’s design team of architects, civil, industrial and structural engineers and land planning, landscape and survey professionals. Lane is an administrative assistant. Johnson is a structural designer.

Joe Fersner joined Woolpert Inc.’s water management group in Charleston as an engineer. He brings more than 20 years of storm-water management experience to the firm.

Daniel Island’s Horner Eelman and Gearhart Engineering Consultants promoted Wesley D. Linker, who recently received his S.C. Registered Professional Engineer certification, to civil engineer.

Robert M. Manning, local publisher of Edible Lowcountry and Edible Atlanta magazines, joined the executive committee of Edible Communities Inc. Edible Communities Inc. is a publishing and information services company that creates community-based, local foods publications in distinct culinary regions throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

Motley Rice LLC hired Roy Neal as the firm’s executive director and promoted Mina Agujia to director of human resources. Bringing nearly 15 years of experience in financial and operational management to the firm, Neal will oversee all financial and support operations for Motley Rice. Agujia will report directly to Neal and manage the firm’s employee relations, staffing, benefits, training and payroll.

Leslie S. Riley has joined McNair Law Firm as special counsel in its Charleston office. Her areas of practice will be environmental and administrative law.

Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP named Ellis Lesemann as a partner in the firm. Lesemann practices in the areas of employment law, commercial litigation, business disputes and real property disputes.

The Sunshine House Inc. promoted Kerin D. Hughes to public relations director. Hughes will serve in the Charleston area as the media contact for the Greenwood, S.C.-based company.

The College of Charleston hired Thomas R. Martin, senior vice president and director of corporate relations at ITT Corp., as the first executive-in-residence for the Department of Communication.

WCSC-TV hired Kathryn Kinley as a news reporter. Kinley, who brings national experience to the news team, will be responsible for investigating and assembling daily news stories on a wide array of topics.
