Jack Geraci joined Charlestowne Hotels as the general manager of the Harbourview Inn. Previously he was general manager of Lodge Alley Inn and assistant general manager of French Quarter Inn.
Fortune Academy, a statewide network of real estate schools with two locations in Charleston, has opened a campus in Summerville. Real estate instructors and Summerville residents Susan Early and Maria Hewston will anchor the academy, which will be located at 1709 Old Trolley Road in the new Weichert, Realtors building.
Tom Sweeny launched Waypoint Consulting LLC, which focuses on developing business and financial strategies. In addition to traditional financial planning, Waypoint will advise companies on how to improve human resources, operations, risk management and benefits.
The S.C. World Trade Center announced two promotions and a new hire. Sarah Hays, who joined SCWTC in June 2006 as assistant director of international trade education, has recently been promoted to assistant director of international business development. Christopher Avcalade has been appointed as director of international business development. Lisa Callihan joined as director of education.
The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce hired Emily Brown as innovation assistant. Previously, Brown worked for Sawgrass Technologies marketing department as an educational program coordinator. As innovation assistant, she provides assistance for the initiatives, meetings and events in the innovation division, including ThinkTEC.
Seven employees of the Verizon Wireless Call Center in North Charleston have been promoted to supervisor: Jonathan Coart, January McAdams, Daniel Russell, Wrena Parker, Suzanne Weller, Shawndell Davis and Willie Thompson.
Rawle Murdy hired Michael Iannelli as director of interactive strategy to enhance the firms interactive capabilities and strategic marketing recommendations. Iannelli formerly served as account director at GSI Commerce Inc. in Philadelphia.
Arcadia Publishing hired Erin Buckingham as staff accountant and Kate Crawford as acquisitions editor. Previously, Buckingham worked for a public accounting firm as an audit associate and employee benefits specialist. Crawford has extensive experience in sales, marketing and project management.
The Childrens Museum of the Lowcountry hired Leigh Batten Lipscomb as its new director of development. Lipscomb was director of sales and marketing for Traffic Patrol Broadcasting from 1997 to 2001 and most recently helped with fundraising for the Historic Charleston Foundations International Antiques Show.
SunTrust Banks Inc. hired Allison Gregory, E. Sheldon Kramer and Nicholas Williams to form a new wealth management division in its Charleston office.
The National Bank of South Carolina relocated to a new office at 158 Meeting St. from its previous location at 46 Broad St.
Kevin Kosco and Dhen Bulatao have joined South Carolina Federal Credit Union. Kosco is vice president of the contact center, located at the unions corporate headquarters in North Charleston, and Bulatao is manager of the Naval Weapons Station branch in Goose Creek.
Jay Hart joined Southcoast Community Bank as assistant vice president and branch manager. He has opened the banks newest branch on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard in West Ashley. Hart has more than six years of previous banking experience in Charleston with both Regions Bank and Bank of America.
New South Mortgage hired Michael Dale as a mortgage consultant at the companys Summerville office, located at 89 Old Trolley Road. Dale brings 16 years of finance experience to his new position. Prior to joining New South Mortgage, he worked for American Home Mortgage and Suntrust Mortgage.

Charles Hudgens joined Ameris Bank as vice president and business banker in Charleston.
Dixon Hughes hired David Shuford and William Westmoreland for the audit department in the firms East Bay office. Shuford previously worked for Bauknight Pietras & Stormer PA in Columbia as an advanced staff auditor. Westmoreland also serves as a member of the South Carolina National Guard.
Dolphin Architects and Builders hired Robert Lisi as the chief construction estimator and Lynne H. Palkovitz as director of administration. Prior to Dolphin, Lisi was the senior pre-construction manager at Highland Partnership Inc. in Chula Vista, Calif., and Palkovitz was a member of the marketing and sales team for downtown Charlestons One Vendue Range development.

The new Charleston office of Pulte Homes Inc. hired Stacy Bruder as director of sales and marketing, Jon Cherry as vice president of operations and Scott Varn as land project manager. Previously, Bruder worked for Pulte Homes at the Del Webb community in Las Vegas. Cherry is a former division president for an Ohio-based national builder. Varn worked for a national homebuilder in Charleston.
Wild Dunes Resort hired James Boheim as executive banquet chef. Boheim has more than 16 years of experience in the food and beverage sector of the hospitality industry. Boheim will also be involved with various area culinary events including the BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival.
