P.J. Johnson, CEO of Summerville Medical Center, and Deborah Pasch, chief nursing officer of Trident Medical Center, have been elected to serve on the 437th Airlift Wing Honorary Commanders Program. Johnson served in the program last year.

Goose Creek City Council has appointed two members to the citys Architectural Review Board and two members to the citys Planning Commission. Architectural Review Board members are Jeri Haga and Nancy Hellstrom. Planning Commission members are Joel Arenson and Cathleen Milne.
Robert Dodenhoff, president of American Drug Testing, has been appointed to the Standards Committee of the Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association. The Washington, D.C.-based association represents the drug and alcohol testing industry on key legislative and regulatory issues.

Dr. Neil W. Draisin of Charleston is among 160 optometrists in the United States who have received the American Optometric Associations 2007 Continuing Optometric Recognition Award. The award is given to doctors of optometry who have completed 50 credit hours of continuing education in their field over a one-year period and who have previously received the Initial Optometric Recognition Award.
