Robert Pratt and Nell Postell have been honored by South Carolina Realtors, formerly the South Carolina Association of Realtors. Pratt, of RE/MAX Professional Realty, was named the 2007 SCR Grassroots Realtor of the Year for his advocacy for homeownership, private property rights and the real estate industry. Nell Postell of Prudential Carolina Real Estate received the Distinguished Service Award for 2007 for her exemplary and outstanding voluntary service. Five real estate agents also were named to serve as leaders at the South Carolina Realtors and National Association of Realtors levels: Robert Clement, a commercial broker with Clement Crawford & Thornhill, will serve as a director for the National Association of Realtors for 2008-2010; Sandy Stone of Island Realty will serve as vice president for the South Carolina Realtors board of directors; Ruthie Smythe, owner and broker-in-charge of Lane and Smythe Real Estate, will serve on the South Carolina Realtors board of directors; Wil Riley of Century 21 Properties Plus is president-elect for the South Carolina Realtors Education Foundation; and David Kent, president and broker-in-charge of The Real Buyers Agent, will serve as a South Carolina Realtors Education Foundation Director.

Winners were chosen based on their outstanding display of graphical and Web design abilities, in a manner conformant with todays highest standards of visual communication, and ethical design standards.
The Greenery Executive Vice President Lee Edwards has passed the Certified Landscape Professional exam. The exam is offered through the Professional Landcare Network and covers the landscaping spectrum from finance to leadership.

The LS3P Associates Ltd. Image Studio, led by Cameron Wilson, was honored at the 2007 American Society of Interior Designers Carolinas Chapter Design Specialty Awards in Charleston. LS3Ps Image Studio projects were selected from among multiple entries submitted by architectural and interior architecture and design firms throughout North and South Carolina, and LS3P was the recipient of three design awards this year including: the Honor Award in the retail category for Brooks Brothers Store in Charleston; the Merit Award in the health care Category for Cenegenics Medical Institute in Charleston; and the Merit Award in the health care Category for the Medical University of South Carolina Charles P. Darby Childrens Research Institute in Charleston.
John Tecklenburg, an associate with CC&T Real Estate Services, earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation from the CCIM Institute. This designation is awarded to commercial real estate professionals upon completion of graduate-level curriculum and attainment of a level of qualifying experience.
Belk Daughtridge, a financial advisor with Smith Barneys Charleston branch, has received the advanced designation of Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist. He is one of three Smith Barney advisors in South Carolina to obtain the designation.
Chris Fraser, a Certified Commercial Investment Member with Grubb & Ellis Barkley Fraser, has successfully completed The Essentials of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Professional Accreditation Course. It reviews the four areas of the LEED program that are covered in the LEED Professional Accreditation Exam for New Construction Version 2.2.
Nick Strehle, of Johns Island, has joined the Professional Landcare Network, known as PLANET. The association provides ongoing educational and safety programs and features a national certification program that ensures that PLANET members have the knowledge and technical expertise necessary to perform their jobs at the highest standards.
The Charleston Trident Association of Realtors celebrated its 100th anniversary in October. CTAR was founded as the Charleston Real Estate Exchange in 1907.
