Assistant professor Kristin B. Gutting joined the faculty of the Charleston School of Law in June to teach tax issue and policy.

 

Deonn Baker has joined Pinewood Preparatory School as its new communications manager. Previously, she served as the director of marketing at The Citadel.

 

Nancy Zisk and Allyson Haynes of the Charleston School of Law have been promoted to associate professors. Zisk teaches torts and Haynes teaches contracts, business law and civil procedure.

 

Trident Health System has hired Laura Perdue as director of emergency services at Summerville Medical Center, Jennifer Schlette as manager of emergency services at Moncks Corner Medical Center, Malissa Flynt as director of the fourth floor ortho/neuro unit at Trident Medical Center, Leasonia McAuley as director of environmental services at Summerville Medical Center and  Patricia “PJ” Johnson as CEO at Summerville Medical Center. 

 

Karen Forman has joined Lutheran Hospice as admissions social worker for the organization’s Mount Pleasant and Ladson offices. Prior to joining Lutheran Hospice, Forman was a social worker for Southern Care Hospice. 

 

Palmetto Behavioral Health, a Charleston-based mental health provider, has hired David C. Shiel as executive director of adult services. Before joining Palmetto Behavioral Health, Shiel served as director of adult services for the Charleston/Dorchester Mental Health Center.

 

Teshia Davis has accepted the position of chief clinical officer at Kindred Hospital Charleston, a long-term acute-care hospital designed to care for critically ill patients. Davis has almost 25 years of experience in all facets of nursing and operations.

 

Carolina Capital Management has hired Robert Ballister and Chris Anderson as financial representatives. Ballister has been in the financial services industry since 1998. Anderson has eight years of experience in the life insurance business and four in the local real estate market.

 

Dixon Hughes PLLC has promoted Lisa Smith to manager in charge of the client accounting services department for the Charleston practice unit.

 

Dominic Grecki has joined Goff  D’Antonio Associates as an intern architect.

 

HGBD Surveyors LLC has promoted Cliff Clements to survey department manager. Clements is a registered South Carolina land surveyor and has 11 years of experience. 

 

Sandy Sabback has joined TCC of South Carolina as a sales and agency support specialist.

Trio Solutions Inc. has hired Roxanne Hicks as a graphic designer. Hicks previously worked as a graphic designer for YMCA of the Triangle in Raleigh, N.C.

 

Advertising Service Agency has hired Laurie Hull as account director and Shannon Band as account coordinator.

 

Lisa Chambers has accepted the position of benefits coordinator for the Town of Mount Pleasant. The town promoted previous benefits coordinator Meghan Kelly to personnel services officer.

 

Verizon Wireless has hired Linda Broderick as director of customer service for its Charleston Call Center. Before joining the Charleston Center, Broderick was director of the Wallingford, Conn., center.

 

Amy Tumbleston-Brown has been named president and CEO of the newly named and branded Tumbleston Photography Studios. She also leads the firm’s new division, Tumbleston Weddings, which is solely dedicated to wedding photography in the southeast region and beyond.

 

Go To Team has hired production coordinator Dawn Nelson. Nelson will help coordinate Go To Team’s video production crews. Based in the corporate office in Charleston, she will be responsible for the daily hiring and crewing for all three offices in Charleston, Charlotte, N.C., and Raleigh, N.C.

 

Help-U-Sell Real Estate has opened an office in Mount Pleasant. Help-U-Sell Lowcountry Lifestyle is locally owned and operated by Behren Kittrel and Kyle Copper.

 

Jarrard Nowell & Russell LLC has hired Sherri Cocke as office manager. Prior to joining the firm, Cocke handled accounts receivable at National Bedding Company in Hawaii.

 

Poogan’s Porch has hired new executive chef Daniel Doyle. Doyle oversees the kitchen at this historic culinary establishment, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

 

J.Paul’z has hired new executive chef Dan Caruso. He has worked with Scott Crawford of the Woodlands, Brett McKee of Oak Steakhouse, and Chris Brandt of The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island.

 

André Guillet has joined McCrady’s as general manager.

 

Sarah O’Connell and Amy Payne have joined the local sales staff of the Family Circle Cup and Tennis Center. In their new roles, they will lead local sponsorship sales efforts not only for the Family Circle Cup but also for all other events held at the Family Circle Tennis Center and the Meredith Experiential Marketing Group on a year-round basis. Bob Moran, sales and business development director, will will be involved in the development and sales of other events such as the More Marathon, Fitness Mind, Body & Spirit Games and AVP Charleston Open. 

 

Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina has hired new staff at the North Charleston Service Center and at Camp Low Country: Christine Clogston-Gordon as the office services specialist; Kathleen Jankowski as a field director; Jamie Mills as the camp ranger for Camp Low Country; Heather Trebil as the outdoor program specialist and resident camp director for Camp Low Country; and Michaela Watts as the older girl program specialist.

 

Peden Brown McLeod Jr. has become an associate at Elmore & Wall P.A. McLeod’s practice areas include construction law, insurance coverage and defense, medical malpractice, and transportation litigation.
