TPM hired Benjamin Seth Woolwine as coastal account executive. Woolwine worked for USA Mobility for two years prior to joining the team at TPM.
Raheel Retiwalla joined Blackbaud Inc. as the practice manager for its business intelligence practice. Ratiwalla previously worked with Microsoft Corp. as an application platform specialist sales manager for northeastern states.
Education
Maureen Meyers, Karen Krebs Turner and Jason Trinklein joined the staff of The Art Institute of Charleston. Meyers has been appointed as director of library services. Turner has been hired as the accounting supervisor. Trinklein was appointed technical support director.
Assistant professor Kristin B. Gutting joined the faculty of the Charleston School of Law to teach tax issue and policy.
Media & marketing
Sara McGill joined Cognetix Advertising and Marketing as an account executive. McGill recently moved from Fredrick, Md., where she worked in the city of Frederick Mayors Office and for the U.S. Army Garrison as a civilian public affairs specialist.
Trio Solutions Inc. hired Virginia Tech undergraduate Jeanine Szczesniak as a 2007 summer intern.
Award-winning journalist Judy S. Watts has been named executive editor of Summerville Communications Inc. and The Berkeley Independent. Watts, who has served as features editor of The Post and Courier since October 2004, will be in charge of content for the Summerville Journal Scene, The Goose Creek Gazette and The Berkeley Independent.
Brandon Advertising and Public Relations relocated several senior staff members to Charleston. John Rusher, executive vice president, and Sharon Tippo, senior account manager, will join media director Jane Kelley in the Charleston office to service its growing list of clients located in and around the Charleston and Hilton Head areas.
Rawle Murdy promoted Melissa Flynn to vice president. Flynn has been with Rawle Murdy for five years. She led the team to multiple awards and distinctions, including two placements for client campaigns in the annual PR News Top 100 Case Studies and receiving PRSA South Carolina Chapter Mercury Awards for both entries.
Garden & Gun magazine hired Scott Westerberg as associate publisher, Carter Worrell as editorial assistant and Suzanne Flohr as advertising assistant. Westerberg was vice president for printing company Perry Judds Holdings. Worrell joined Garden & Gun several months ago as a freelancer. Flohr owned a home and business design company and has interned in the Ella Walton Richardson Fine Art Gallery in Charleston.
Nonprofit
The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce hired Kristy Wesolowski and Jennifer Petro as member programs coordinators. Prior to joining the chamber, Wesolowski was the assistant at The Education Foundation, an initiative of the Chamber. Wesolowski also was a loadmaster in the 17th Airlift Squadron out of Charleston Air Force Base. Most recently, Petro was employed by The South Carolina Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as their administrative coordinator.
The S.C. World Trade Center hired Janet Herrera-Gantt as an international trade specialist, Christina Zeid as a public relations associate and Dianne Price as director of international programs & membership. Herrera-Gantt promotes and recruits for the SCWTCs Export Readiness Training for agricultural/processed food companies in South Carolina and Georgia. Price previously worked for Bosch in Germany.
Christie Ross joined Trident United Way as the vice president of major gifts/planned giving. Most recently, she was the regional director for Bright Futures Learning in Charleston. David Sherman joined Trident United Way as the marketing department intern. He was most recently a sales associate at General Nutrition Center on Charleston Air Force Base. Rachel Guy joined Trident United Way as the community volunteer intern. She has worked for Chick-fil-A in Mount Pleasant for the past four years and is currently the chaplains assistant at Presbyterian College.
Pro Bono Legal Services Inc. hired Katherine C. Pratt as development resource coordinator. Pratt, formerly the executive director of Summerville D.R.E.A.M., will help Pro Bono Legal Services to diversify its funding and raise awareness of the organization.
Real estate
Allison Taylor joined CC&T Real Estate Services as an associate focusing on commercial real estate sales. Taylor has eight years of sales experience, including her previous position as general sales manager for WTAT FOX 24 TV.
Tara Richardson joined the new East Cooper office of William Means Real Estate. Richardson has more than 10 years of real estate experience.
Daniel OHarra joined Colliers Keenan in Charleston as a commercial real estate broker specializing in office and industrial. He has worked in commercial real estate for two years.
