Cremins runs in Children’s Hospital relay

College of Charleston men’s basketball coach Bobby Cremins is new to the Lowcountry, but he’s already adopted the area’s philanthropic spirit. Cremins recently took part in the Children’s Miracle Network Torch Relay to benefit the Medical University of South Carolina’s Children’s Hospital. Marriott of Charleston, which sponsors the relay, had a goal of raising $20,000 with the event.

 

Knightsville Kiwanis donates $1,000 to Children in Crisis

Harvest raises $26,000 for Dorchester Habitat

The 13th annual Harvest for Habitat, which drew more than 150 people for a golf tournament, live and silent auction and dinner, raised more than $26,000 for Dorchester Habitat for Humanity, which helps provide homes for low-income families. Charleston magazine honors Lowcountry philanthropists

Charleston magazine and the Coastal Community Foundation recently hosted the second annual Giving Back Awards at the Hibernian Hall in downtown Charleston. The award winners were: Frances Fike, Benevolent Spirit; Jeff Taylor, Cognetix, Creative Spirit; Henry Hay III, Muhler Co., Philanthropic Spirit; and WINGS for Kids Inc., Community Spirit.
