Gary Lilly has joined Berenyi Inc. as a professional engineer. Lilly, who has more than 40 years of design and construction experience for light and heavy industrial projects, previously worked as a residential engineer with Paul C. Rizzo Associates in Monroeville, Pa.
SGM Architects Inc. hired Christopher A. Turner and Jerry L. Traino as intern architects and Sara S. Lybrand as office manager in its Mount Pleasant office. In addition, Peggy J. Smith was promoted to senior business manager. Smith has worked for SGM for five years.
Richard A. Brisbin has been named vice president of the Southeast Region for L-3 Titan Corp.
IOn Design + Build, the home design and construction division of IOn Group, named architect Thomas J. Lodge as its director of design. Prior to joining IOn Design + Build, Lodge was a senior associate for Herbert S. Newman and Partners P.C. in New Haven, Conn.
EDUCATION
Charleston School of Law hired William J. Cook as a visiting assistant professor and named Kevin R. Eberle as director of legal writing. Cook, who will teach property law and appellate practice, was formerly a law clerk to the Hon. Kaye Hearn, chief justice of the South Carolina Court of Appeals. He most recently worked as an attorney at Hulsey Litigation Group LLC in Charleston. Eberle previously taught legal writing as an adjunct professor for two years at the school. A former member of the editorial board of The South Carolina Lawyer, Eberle most recently had a commercial litigation and appellate practice at Rosen Rosen & Hagood LLC in Charleston.
Lowcountry Graduate Center hired Jessica Wyatt Robinson and John P. Nee Jr. Robinson will serve as facilities manager. Prior to joining the center, she served as the student employment specialist and office supervisor in the human resources department of Central Michigan University. Nee will serve as assistant to the dean of the College of Charlestons North Campus. Prior to joining the center, he served as the customer service coordinator at the Mediterranean Shipping Co. in Mount Pleasant.
The College of Charleston named Stephen Osborne as the new senior vice president for business affairs. Osborne, who has spent more than 27 years in state government, comes to the college as the former chief of staff for the S.C. Budget and Control Board.
Peter Karsten has joined the faculty of The Citadel as the Mark W. Clark Distinguished Visiting Professor of History, while Christopher Wright has been named an assistant professor of history. Karsten comes to The Citadel from the University of Pittsburgh, where he holds a joint appointment in the history and sociology departments. Wright is a specialist in the history of the Middle East and will teach a range of courses on the Middle East and the Islamic world.

Ryland Homes promoted Patrick Brown and Diane Lopata to sales counselors in the Charleston region. Brown, who previously worked as a sales assistant, will sell new homes in the Brickhope Plantation development in Goose Creek. Lopata, who joined Ryland as a sales assistant six months ago, will sell new homes at Shinnecock at Wescott Plantation in Summerville.
Charlestons Rigging & Marine Hardware Inc. promoted Michael Marks to manager.

Abbott & Hill Travel hired Caroline Wallinger as a travel consultant. Wallinger previously worked on the editorial staffs of area publications House Calls and Charleston magazine.
Heartwell Mortgage Corp. hired Ross Cricchio as branch manager for its new Mount Pleasant location. Cricchio, who has more than 18 years experience in the mortgage industry, previously served as a national account manager for American Home Mortgage.
Gamble Givens & Moody LLC hired Bryan Dubis as a CPA and certified valuation analyst and Herb Klein as a business advisor. Dubis joins as a member of the litigation and business valuation services team. Klein, who has more than 35 years of international business experience, previously worked in sales and marketing for BAYER and as vice president of new business development for the Polymer Group Inc.

East Shore Athletic Club hired Becky Petersen as childrens fitness director and promoted Mandy Harrison to manager. Petersen, who previously worked with Good Bodies and Get Movin in Columbia, S.C., has more than six years experience as a group fitness instructor. Harrison was previously employed by Circuit City Inc. as a financial analyst.
Trident Health System hired Dr. Jennifer Fiorini to practice as a general surgeon with Coastal Carolina Surgical Specialists. In addition to specializing in general surgery, Fiorini has a special interest in advanced laparoscopy and breast malignancy and disease.
NEW BUSINESS
Marian Chatfield and Gail Cordner opened The Pull-Out Shelf Co. to serve the tri-county area. The company sells and installs rollout shelves for kitchens, bathroom and pantry cabinets.
Rob Robertson opened Classic Yachting Solutions with services promoting traditional yachts and boats. CYS helps clients coordinate the creation, delivery and support of new and vintage yachts, hand built by custom boatyards in New England.
Chefs Chuck and Arlaana Black opened Arlaana Restaurant on Daniel Island. Arlaana features many international flavors, including a diverse and moderately priced tapas menu. Arlaana is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday through Saturday, and is available for private functions on Sunday and Monday.
Human resources consulting firm Carolina HR Partners has opened an office in Mount Pleasant. The company, led by president Steve Murphy, offers a full-range of human resources services including payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, training, employee relations, policy development and compensation and benefits design.
Brueggers Bagels has opened a new corporate location at 347 King St. in downtown Charleston. The bakery and cafe offers authentic boil-and-bake bagels.
Jason Selby and Jamie Minster Selby purchased Wholly Cow IMAX, located at the Aquarium Wharf at 360 Concord St. Through the new owners, Wholly Cow will include ice cream catering services, sundae bars, milkshake stations and ice cream cakes.
Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina reopened its Rivers Avenue store. The new 12,000-square-foot facility offers a variety of new and gently used merchandise and also offers a drive-thru donation center. Operating hours for the store are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12-6 p.m. on Sundays.

Glasspro Inc. promoted Dale Hoover to inventory and equipment manager and hired Michael Cochran as branch manager and Carrie A. Schad in the accounting department for the companys Mount Pleasant location. Hoover previously served as branch manager at Glasspros Mount Pleasant facility.
Pearlstine Distributor Inc. hired Maggie Pride and Aryl Slepski. Pride, who will serve as a customer accountant, previously worked for Universal Solutions. Slepski, who previously worked under the Charleston County School District with the School-to-Careers program, is a pricing analyst.
TECHNOLOGY
AT&T Inc. named John Craft as vice president of enterprise sales in the Carolinas region. Craft, who has more than 15 years experience in sales and sales management, will oversee sales, operations and technical support for all enterprise accounts in North and South Carolina.
Matt Chutjian has joined ComDoc as branch manager/document products. Chutjian has more than five years of experience in the copier industry and has specialized in selling and implementing digital storage solutions.
LAW
Nexsen Pruet hired Christopher D. Foster. Previously, Foster was with a Raleigh, N.C., law firm where he advised clients on tax matters and provided representation on issues with the Internal Revenue Service and N.C. Department of Revenue. He also has experience in estate planning and estate administration.
Eleni Roumel has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLC as an associate. Prior to joining the firm, Roumel practiced with Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr LLP and Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP, where she worked on complex commercial litigation actions involving securities, intellectual property, trade secret, market timing, breach of contract and insurance issues. She also worked on white-collar criminal defense issues and on internal investigations for publicly traded companies.
MEDIA & MARKETING
Rawle Murdy hired Kelly Martin as a broadcast manager and Gayle Robertson as a creative assistant. Martin recently re-joined the Rawle Murdy team, where she previously served as a broadcast production manager for 10 years. As creative assistant, Robertson works in all areas of the creative department, including supervising the progress of multiple client assignments, assisting in broadcast studio projects and contributing to the print production process.
NONPROFIT
Kathryn K. Matthew, Brandy S. Culp and Jennifer M. Mortensen joined the Historic Charleston Foundation. Matthew, who is the director of development, has more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit arena in executive leadership and fundraising. She previously served as director of marketing and philanthropy for the Massachusetts Chapter of the Nature Conservancy, as vice president for expansion and exhibits development at the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia, and as senior advisor for marketing and exhibit development at the Chemical Heritage Foundation in Philadelphia. Culp is curator of the Nathaniel Russell House and the Aiken-Rhett House, museum houses owned and operated by the foundation. Culp previously served as an adjunct lecturer at the Art Institute of Chicago and an adjunct professor at Northwestern University in Chicago. Mortensen is administrative coordinator for the museums and preservation departments. Mortensen previously worked as an intern in the preservation department and as a volunteer for numerous foundation projects.

First Southeast Insurance Services, an affiliate of First Financial Holdings Inc., hired Starla Grimes as an account executive. Grimes background is in employer benefits.
