TECHNOLOGY

C3 Technology hired two staff members, Ellen Pfeiffer and Melissa Morlock. Pfeiffer is the business development manager. She brings with her 20 years of experience in IT consulting and business development. Morlock has been named technology sales designer. Morlock comes to C3 Technology from Genesis Restaurant Group where she served as marketing director.

FINANCE

First National Bank of the South has hired Kara Hill as a teller in the Mount Pleasant office. Hill was previously employed as a teller with Macon Bank in Hendersonville, N.C. Charlie Gamble has joined as a customer service representative. He has five years of banking experience and was previously employed with Bank of America.

Jarrard, Nowell & Russell LLC has hired Tiffany Davis as marketing coordinator and office assistant. Davis is responsible for facilitating and coordinating office operations to streamline business functions and to assist in managing tax and financial documents. A graduate of Winthrop University, Davis received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and political science.

Carolina First has announced that William S. Hann has been promoted to senior vice president. Hann joined the bank in October 2005 and is currently the private banking manager. He was previously employed with KeyBank as district president in Dayton, Ohio. Hann is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.

Hal Stancil was hired as a financial representative for Carolina Capital Management on Daniel Island. Stancil graduated from Appalachian State University and has more than 16 years of expertise in the financial services industry.

NONPROFIT

Happy Days and Special Times announced the appointment of Teresa Cooper as director of finance and operations. Cooper has more than 20 years of experience in management and accounting in public, nonprofit and private industry sectors. For the past five years, she has served as controller for the Kiawah Island Community Association.

Trident United Way announced two new staff members. Liz Carmichael, provider services coordinator, is a graduate of the Inter-American University in Puerto Rico. Carmichael was previously a pre-school teacher before becoming a program director for KinderCare. She will be working with providers in the tri-county area and also assist programs with Hispanic needs. Michael Lisle, nurturing youth coordinator, is a Florida State University graduate, receiving a bachelor’s degree in human resources management and a master’s degree in educational leadership. Lisle previously worked for the Florida Department of Education. He will be responsible for helping connect local children, ages 6-17, with resources necessary to help them succeed.

The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce announced the hiring of Erin Pabst as regional advancement/public policy assistant. Pabst received her bachelor’s degree in English from Presbyterian College. She previously worked as a financial aid coordinator at the Medical University of South Carolina. The chamber also hired Lindsay Stucker as member programs coordinator. Stucker received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and previously worked as a special events associate with Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Joel McManus is the chamber’s new director of regional advancement. He has extensive experience in community and economic development, economic research and analysis, and state/local government affairs. McManus was previously the manager of community and economic development with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. Scott Moore was named the business research manager. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin—Stout with a bachelor’s degree in industrial education and completed a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. Moore was previously employed in the wood products industry.

Custom Development Solutions, a fundraising consulting firm, an-nounced that Robert L. Fuzy has joined the company as senior campaign director. Fuzy brings almost 17 years of development experience to his position. Most recently, he was director of major gifts at Furman University where he assisted in completing a $200 million campaign.

REAL ESTATE

Ann LeVaur, Michele Lynn Muraviov, and Ushuaia W. Robinsong have joined Century 21 Properties Plus Inc. as real estate agents. Muraviov, who will work out of the Summerville office, was previously a service manager for National Vendor Services in North Carolina. LeVaur, who will work in the Metro North Charleston office, has been with Century 21 for more than 12 years. She previously spent 32 years working for the Department of Defense and is retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Robinsong, who will work out of the Mount Pleasant office, was previously a sales and reservation representative at the Francis Marion Hotel and is bilingual in Spanish and English.

New South Mortgage has hired two new employees, Joe Cope and Matthew Hensley. Cope is a mortgage originator. He was previously with Hearthstone Mortgage and RX Financial Services in Indianapolis and holds a bachelor’s degree in business finance from Charleston Southern University. Hensley serves as a mortgage consultant. He was previously a loan officer with Nationwide Financial Group and holds degrees in corporate communications and business administration from the College of Charleston.

Bill and Leslie Martin and Elizabeth Munn have joined the Mount Pleasant office of AgentOwned Realty. The Martins each have more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry, including construction management, inspection of land development, residential construction and environmental enforcement. Munn has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of South Carolina and was formerly employed with the real estate law firm of Rogers Townsend and Thomas.

Stuart Rumph and Clary Auler have joined Disher, Hamrick & Myers as real estate agents. Rumph, who will work out of the firm’s Seabrook Island office, attended Belmont Abbey College and has extensive knowledge of the area. Auler, who will work out of the firm’s downtown office, was formerly a practicing attorney. She received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.

Bill Forrest, Ken Myhren and Alan Alexander have joined ERA Tides Realty. Forrest is a real estate broker and is licensed in both South Carolina and Georgia. He has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and served in the U.S. Navy. Myhren is a real estate agent who spent 20 years in the U.S. Navy. Alexander is a real estate agent and previously worked at the Westin Francis Marion Hotel.

Beach Commercial announced the addition of Jay Conroy as a commercial broker specializing in leasing and investment properties. Conroy earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of Charleston. He spent 15 years in the Charleston radio and outdoor media sales management and general management industries.

James Dyal has joined Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties’ Summerville office as a real estate agent.

LAW

Clawson & Staubes LLC announced the hiring of Jeffrey A. Ross and H. Chris Tecklenburg IV to its legal team. The two will practice construction litigation, workers’ compensation and civil litigation. Ross received his law degree this year from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and completed his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University in 1997. Ross was previously employed as a mechanical engineer in Greenville. Tecklenburg received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law this year and completed his undergraduate degree in political science at USC.

Nexsen Pruet LLC announced the hiring of George Bullwinkel to the Charleston real estate group. Bullwinkel earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Clemson University, his international master’s degree from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and his law degree from the USC School of Law.

Moore & Van Allen announced that Kari T. Hubbard has joined its Charleston office as an associate. Hubbard will practice business law. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of North Carolina and a law degree from the University of South Carolina.

NEW BUSINESS

Lowcountry Power Pilates LLC opened a studio at East Shore Athletic Club, located at 3301 Stockdale St. in the Park West subdivision of Mount Pleasant. Owner and lead instructor Joyce Olender worked as a health care administrator for 13 years before becoming a certified Pilates trainer. Group classes, as well as private and semi-private classes, are offered.

Roger Belk has opened a full-service graphics design firm, Another Perspective, to serve architectural, engineering and construction companies. In addition to traditional media, Belk can also provide digital watercolors, 3-D models and 3-D animations.

EDUCATION

The American College of the Building Arts announced the appointment of Charles P. Anderson as vice president for development. Anderson brings more than 23 years of experience as a development officer and capital campaign strategist to the college. Anderson will oversee all development functions, including annual, capital and planned giving, the building of scholarship and endowment funds and special events. Anderson was also named to the President’s Administrative Cabinet—the senior management group of ACBA.

STAFFING

Marie Kill has joined Dunhill Staffing Systems of Charleston as staffing manager. Kill, who has extensive staffing experience, will be responsible for the daily management of recruiting in Dunhill’s temporary staffing division.

HOSPITALITY & TOURISM

McCrady’s has named Greg Barker as assistant general manager of the downtown restaurant. Barker joins the staff from the Capital Grille in Charlotte, N.C., where he helped manage a staff of more than 60 people. He was also general manager and managing partner at Bluewater Bistro in Lake Wylie, S.C. Barker graduated from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks with a degree in public relations.

MEDIA & MARKETING

Jenny Fisher joined WCBD-TV as a reporter/producer. Fisher comes to WCBD-TV from her hometown of Victoria, Texas, where she worked at KAVU-TV as a general assignment reporter. A graduate of Texas A&M University, Fisher holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in Spanish.

Zafari Inc. has hired Lisa Morgin Blackwelder as a web developer. Blackwelder has more than three years of experience in Web site development and more than six years in graphic design. She previously worked as a freelance graphic designer in Winston-Salem, N.C.

ARCHITECTURE & CONSTRUCTION DesignWorks announced the promotion of nine team members. Gary Collins has been promoted to associate. He holds a landscape architecture degree from Ryerson University in Toronto and an MLA from North Carolina State University. Holly Kramer has been promoted to team leader. She holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia and has six years of experience. Jason Kronsberg has been promoted to team leader. He is a registered landscape architect and has nine years of experience in landscape architecture. Anna Montgomery has been promoted to team leader. She holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Pennsylvania State University with a minor in architectural art history. Edmund Most has been promoted to team leader. He holds an AAS in horticulture from the State University of New York, College of Technology, and a BLA from State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University. Andrew Bleckley has been promoted to project coordinator. He holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Clemson University and has three years of experience. J.R. Kramer has been promoted to project coordinator. He holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia and has six years of experience. Allison Strickland has been promoted to project coordinator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Clemson University and has more than six years of experience. Tyla Bowers has been promoted to senior designer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Clemson University and has three years experience.

Shannette Green has joined Berenyi Inc. as an administrative receptionist. Green was previously in accounts receivable/payable and a sales and service associate at Propac Inc. of North Charleston. Jim Johnson has joined Berenyi’s comprehensive design team as a project manager. He has more than 34 years of executive management experience in the manufacturing industry. Johnson was previously the manager of operations in charge of starting up the Welded Tube Berkeley facility.

Gulf Stream Construction Co. announced the following employee promotions: Ed Camposano has been promoted to project manager with the building division; Brian Carter has been promoted to superintendent with the building division; Reuben Cheatham has been promoted to estimator with the building division; and Paul Willis has been promoted to superintendent with the building division.

Davis & Floyd Inc. announced the promotion of two employees. Sean McDonell has been promoted to office manager of the engineering/architectural division. He will also continue his duties as civil construction services manager. McDonell has extensive experience in design contract oversight, property acquisition, budget oversight, construction contract administration, property management, grant administration and facilities/public works management. He previously managed all design and construction projects for the Charleston Naval Complex Redevelopment Authority. Richard Lee Jr. has been promoted to highway construction services manager. He specializes in construction management, utilities and highways. Lee was previously a vice president/project manager with a utility and road construction company in Virginia.

RETAIL

Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. Inc. announced several position changes at the corporate office. Hayley Poteat is now an executive assistant in the merchandising and advertising department. Poteat’s duties include working with the weekly ads for circulars, customer complaint letters, the automatic distribution programs and working with the buying department. Lynn Seymour has joined the corporate accounting department. Her new duties include financial and fixed asset analysis and implementation and preparation of financial statements for corporate operations.

The Charleston RiverDogs announced that Tim Savona has been hired as the director of food and beverage. He will oversee the food and beverage operation for Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park, which handles the concessions needs for all RiverDogs’ and The Citadel Bulldogs’ home baseball games, in addition to the special events at the park. Savona interned with the Washington Nationals during their inaugural spring training season and spent time with the Brevard County Manatees of the Florida State League.
