Oriana Hernandez has joined Ralph Whitehead Associates as project design engineer, working primarily on utility coordination projects. Hernandez previously worked with the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

 

Automotice

 

Justin Bunch joined Glasspro Inc. as an auto glass technician. He will handle customer vehicle pre-inspections and auto glass repairs and replacements in the Mount Pleasant facility. Bunch is certified by Dow Automotive and has three years auto glass experience.

 

New Business

 

Lynne Becker launched the Me Too Mommy product line under Lynne Ellen Inc. The company works to simplify the task of journaling a child’s first year of development. Prior to starting her own company, Becker worked as a biostatistician with several biotech companies on the West Coast as well as the Medical University of South Carolina.

 

Austin Nelson and Eric Bielsky have started Multiverse Media Duplication Inc., providing CD and DVD duplication, printing and packaging services. Nelson is a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in professional music. Bielsky recently earned his degree in history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

 

Insurancee

 

Joe Krysa joined Inland & Marine Insurance Group LLC as a commercial insurance producer. Krysa formally was with Federated Insurance.

 

Real Estate & Construction

 

Danaher Construction Services hired Matthew Farmer as special projects manager. Farmer has a degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University and a MBA from the University of South Carolina.

 

Dunes Properties of Charleston Inc. added Lauren Tyler to its property management division as a reservationist in the Isle of Palms rental office. She has a degree in animal and veterinary science from Clemson University. 

 

Dolphin Architects and Builders added three professionals to its staff. Wiley Stephens, contract administrator, previously worked in residential development in Atlanta. Tyson Wride, construction systems coordinator, has eight years experience in residential building and construction. Steven Yeomans, project manager, spent the last five years as construction manager for Sea Island Habitat for Humanity. Yeomans is also an adjunct professor in the building construction trades program at Trident Technical College.

 

Linda Howard joined AgentOwned Realty. She has 18 years of real estate experience, both as a salesperson and as a broker-in-charge for a Westport, Conn., real estate firm. Most recently, Howard was a project manager for a Connecticut-based pharmaceutical company. Pasquale LaCorte also joined AgentOwned Realty. LaCorte is attending the College of Charle-ston and expects to graduate in May with a degree in business administration.

 

Consulting

 

ICF Consulting, a management, technology and policy consulting firm, hired Kelley Hartsfield as an associate. Hartsfield was previously with Benefitfocus.com Inc. Also joining the staff are Thuy Hoang and Nicole Antonacci as research assistants.

 

Law

 

Motley Rice LLC launched a marketing department to serve the firm’s clients, co-counsel and staff. Sally W. Comollo is director of marketing. She previously ran her own consulting practice, providing strategic marketing and public relations counsel to technology companies. Alicia G. Ward is marketing manager, responsible for brand stewardship and managing all marketing communications and materials. She previously was marketing director of Gamble Givens & Moody LLC. As webmaster, J.R. Getches will design all Motley Rice Web sites and direct video and interactive software production and development. He formerly was president of IVArts, an entertainment content company in Los Angeles. Allison M. Gunn is marketing coordinator responsible for assisting the marketing department with the day-to-day management. She previously worked in marketing and research for eBridge Technologies and LinningSmoak Public Relations, both of Greenville, S.C. Alicia A. Wallace is managing editor of the firm’s 11 electronic newsletters. Before transferring to the marketing department, she worked in the settlement distribution department on class action lawsuits.

 

Technology

 

Modulant, a developer of enterprise software platform and services for re-vitalizing legacy data, expanded its senior management team. Dawn Porter is corporate controller. Porter is a certified public accountant with more than 15 years of financial management and regulatory compliance experience in public, private, federal and state sectors. Previously, Porter was the controller at Life Cycle Engineering. Kenneth Emory is head of professional services. Emory has more than 20 years of experience in the information technology industry. P.J. Jade is director of research and development. Jade was with 3Com Corp. where he was the principal architect at the headquarters in Silicon Valley, Calif.

 

Manufacturing

 

MaManikfsfiufsMaunfacturingMMarvin E. “Gene” Hundley was named president of MeadWestvaco’s forestry division, effective May 1. He will replace E. “Gene” Parker, who is retiring in late spring.  During the transition period, Hundley will serve as vice president of forest operations. He began his career with MeadWestvaco in the company’s West Virginia forestry operation in 1974.

 

Financial

 

Brian R. Powers joined Streetman & Jones PC as a senior accountant. He has more than four years experience in public accounting, as well as two years with the South Carolina Department of Revenue.

 

Marketing & Media

 

Rawle Murdy promoted Connie Miller to account executive and hired Natalie Whitney as account coordinator. Miller, who joined the firm four years ago, has worked in a number of capacities at Rawle Murdy, including executive assistant and account coordinator. Whitney also will be executive assistant to Bruce Murdy, company president.

 

Education

 

John L.S. Simpkins, an advisor to several African nations on constitutional law, will teach the subject to second-year students at the Charleston School of Law starting in August. Simpkins previously taught political science at Furman University and was assistant director of the Richard W. Riley Institute of Government, Politics and Public Leadership.

 

Architecture

 

Byers Design Group added three staff members to its team. John White is land architecture project manager and is working on his tenure to become a licensed landscape architect. Jennifer Kearney is an intern architect with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Michigan. Andrew Norton, also an intern architect, has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Clemson University.

 

Liollio Architecture hired M. Dennis Knight as director of technical support. Former principal with GKA LLC, Knight has 30 years of experience in the design, engineering and construction industries.
