Assisted living community council donates to local groups

The Bishop Gadsden Residents’ Council Outreach Committee and the Bishop Gadsden Advisory Council donated $30,000 each to Bishop Gadsden’s Ministry of Financial Assistance and The Association for the Blind. The Bishop Gadsden Residents’ Council is an advisory group to the management of Bishop Gadsden. Annually the group hosts fundraising events to benefit charities in the community. 

  

Nonprofit receives telecommunications help

C3 Technology Inc. donated telecommunication services to The LowCountry Aids Association for the relocation of its offices to Meeting Street Road. LowCountry Aids Association is a nonprofit organization that sponsors such events as Dining with Friends and Shopping with Friends.

  

Wine seminar benefits Open Space Forum

The Mount Pleasant Open Space Foundation raised nearly $5,000 for open space at its first annual wine seminar hosted by Dr. Andy Felts, a local wine and spirits columnist. “We could not be more pleased with the success of our first fundraising event,” says Mat Surles, chairman of the Mount Pleasant Open Space Foundation. “The funds raised by the event will further the Mount Pleasant Open Space Foundation’s goal of actively seeking areas of open space, large or small, through conservation easements, land donations and bargain sales.”

 

Charleston Habitat receives a hand from Publix

Publix Supermarkets Charities Inc. presented a grant for $7,500 to Charleston Habitat for Humanity to purchase lunches for Habitat volunteers. Mount Pleasant Publix store manager Tiki Vietri presented the grant to Habitat executive director Marika Kary. Boxed lunches for Charleston Habitat volunteers are provided by Delicious Delights Workshop, a sheltered workshop for mentally challenged adults.
