Prudential Carolina Real Estate announced the following additions to its staff: Barbara Hall, Joshua Brandner, Beverly Christ and Syd Powell to the Folly Road office on James Island; Brian Roberts to the Orleans Road office in West Ashley; Tammy P. Brown to the Metro North office in Goose Creek; Vicky S. Francis to the Trolley Road office in Summerville; Steve Kaul to the Coleman Boulevard office in Mount Pleasant; and Gary Clarke to the Kiawah/Seabrook Island office.
Kathy Foulk and Kristina Connolly have joined Weichert, RealtorsDean-Kelby as sales associates. Specializing in residential sales with an emphasis on first-time homebuyers, Foulk will serve clients in Charleston and surrounding areas. She is a member of the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors. Connolly will specialize in residential sales to clients in Charleston and surrounding areas.
Lisa Richart, Casey A. McKown, Claudia E. Vigeant and Christine Houston have joined ERA Tides Realty in Summerville. Richart has a bachelors degree in marketing from Western Michigan University. McKown previously worked with the U.S. Coast Guard. Vigeant has a bachelors degree in textile technology from the University of Massachusetts. Houston, a certified respiratory therapist, has 14 years of experience in hospitals.
Faison Enterprises announced that Matthew O. Moye III has joined the firm as managing director of development for its new Charleston office. Moye will oversee the solicitation, analysis, underwriting and negotiation of all commercial and residential development for regional projects. Moye was previously a development director for Greystar Real Estate Partners LLC.
John McBride, John H. Beckroge Jr., Julie Marcey and Barbara Hall have joined the Mount Pleasant office of AgentOwned Realty. McBride is a retired New York City police sergeant with more than 20 years of experience. He has been a real estate investor in the East Cooper area. Beckroge attended Palmer College where he studied accounting and business management and was a restaurant owner and chef in North Carolina. Marcey has a background in banking and attended Charleston Southern University. Hall has a bachelors of science in nursing and is a certified Anusara Yoga instructor. She has also worked in interior design for six years.
Ryland Homes has promoted three employees. Shauna Tangemann has been promoted to purchasing coordinator. Tangemann will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with vendors as well as establishing house costs and budgets and ensuring their accuracy monthly. Garrick Newell has been promoted to product development manager. Newell will oversee any improvements to Ryland products. Damon Banfield has been promoted to area manager. Banfield will be responsible for overseeing construction supervisors in the field.
AgentOwned Realty has hired three new employees to its Mount Pleasant office: Kim Johnson, Rebecca Andrews and Denise Montplaisir. Johnson attended the University of South Carolina. Andrews earned a bachelors of science and a business administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Montplaisir was owner and broker of Argmont Realty in Manchester, N.H., for 14 years and has experience working as a mortgage broker in North Carolina and California.
The Beach Co. announced the addition of Doug Walker to Beach Residential, the residential brokerage division of The Beach Co.. Walker will work as a sales executive for the group based out of Seaside Farms in Mount Pleasant. Previously, Walker worked in the Charleston real estate market for 16 years.
Donnie Whitaker has joined the Dunes Properties sales team at the Isle of Palms office. Whitaker was previously a tennis teacher for the past three years at Wild Dunes resort.
Joanne Shumaker has joined Clement, Crawford & Thornhill Inc. as the sales and leasing manager. Shumaker also currently serves as a colonial in the South Carolina Air National Guard. She previously owned and operated a retail gift business.
ZZG & Co. Real Estate announced the addition of Belinda Clark. Clark, formerly with the Space & Naval Warfare Systems, attended the Charleston School of Real Estate in 2005 and subsequently got her real estate sales license.
Julie Somers Hooi has joined the Kiawah/Seabrook office of Dunes Properties of Charleston Inc. as administrative assistant. Hooi brings 18 years of real estate experience with her from the Florida market.

Merl F. Code is joining Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart PC as counsel. Code will concentrate his practice in the areas of positive employee relations and diversity.
EDUCATION
Lt. Col. Kathy Jones has been named assistant commandant for administration and coeducation at The Citadel. She replaces Col. Hedy Pinkerton, who stepped down in early September. Jones most recently was assistant director of admissions, where she was responsible for the development and implementation of recruiting activities with specific focus on bringing qualified women into the South Carolina Corps of Cadets.
Michael Saboe has been named operations director for the Culinary Institute of Charleston at Trident Technical College. Saboe will be responsible for physical facilities oversight, coordination of the institutes internship/co-op programs, development of new online courses, classroom and online instruction, and recruitment. Saboe has worked at Trident Tech for the past eight years and has 20 years of experience in the hospitality field.
HOSPITALITY & TOURISM
McCradys restaurant has named Catherine Valente as special events coordinator. Valente is responsible for marketing the restaurants private dining offerings and coordinating all special events. Prior to joining McCradys, Valente worked as director of conference services at Harrison Conference Center in Glen Cove, N.Y., where she was responsible for coordinating and delivering all aspects of the historic propertys meetings and special events business. Before joining Harrison, Valente was a conference planning manager for Benchmark Hospitality in New York. She began her hospitality career at the Macklowe Hotel & Conference Center, now the Millennium Broadway Hotel, in Manhattan.
NONPROFIT
The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce announced the hiring of Kristin Badger as the new FastTrac coordinator working with ThinkTEC. Badger will be responsible for coordinating a statewide FastTrac entrepreneurial program, governed by a coalition of business and education leaders around South Carolina.
ARCHITECTURE & CONSTRUCTION
Life Cycle Engineering announced the hiring of Jennifer Cox, Joe Clark, Tom Gober, Terry Keown, Deborah Gruber, Phil Odom, Will Schroder, Andy Gager and Sam McNair. Cox has been named IT director. She is currently completing her degree in information technology from the University of Phoenix and holds a degree in construction management from Central Michigan University. Clark has been named an operations subject matter expert. He holds a masters degree in business administration from Winthrop University. Gober has been named a planning & scheduling subject matter expert. He came to LCE from Nissan North America where he was the maintenance safety coordinator. Keown has joined LCE as a principal and has more than 35 years of experience in executive management and operations. Gruber has joined as a subject matter expert after retiring from the navy as a nuclear electronics technician/reactor operator. Odom has joined as a reliability solutions consultant with more than 20 years of executive experience in the textile industry and 10 years of consulting experience. Schroder is an integrator. He comes with past experience as a technical integrations manager at MeadWestvaco Corp. Gager joins LCE as a subject matter expert in materials management. He has more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing. McNair is a senior consultant with more than 30 years of experience in maintenance and reliability.
Lisa Horner has joined Horner, Eelman & Gearhart Engineering Consultants as a project administrator. Horner has more than 15 years of experience in office administration and grant management, and she previously worked with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.
Ryland Homes announced two recent additions to its Charleston staff. Kevin Woodley has been added in the position of land manager. Woodley previously worked with Portrait Homes in Charleston and will be responsible for the acquisition, entitlement and development of Ryland communities. Jan Hudson has been hired as a receptionist. Hudson is responsible for greeting clients, answering phones and giving a positive first impression of Ryland Homes. Prior to joining Ryland Homes, Hudson was employed with J. C. Penney and Francis Marion University.

Ken Every-Andrews and Tom Hynes have joined Carolina Capital Management as financial representatives in the Daniel Island office. EveryAndrews has 15 years of experience in food and beverage management and has more than
12 years of experience in financial services. Hynes, a graduate of Salisbury State University, has 2 1/2 years of experience in financial services.
Margaret L. Hines has joined Community FirstBank as a senior vice president/
chief credit officer. Hines will be responsible for credit administration, special credits and loan operations. She has more than 17 years of experience in financial institution management.
Carolina First announced the promotion of Raye H. Albers to vice president/branch manager. He is currently serving as the branch manager in Mount Pleasant.
HEALTH CARE
Sarah Tipton has been promoted to associate director of Bishop Gadsden Retirement Community. Tipton joined Bishop Gadsden in 1995 as director of admissions. For the past six years, she has been director of health and wellness services, overseeing the assisted living, skilled nursing, dementia care and wellness areas of Bishop Gadsden. Bishop Gadsden also announced the promotion of Jeannine Crawford to director of nursing. Crawford has 25 years of nursing experience, most recently in the long-term care and hospice fields. She will oversee all health care services at Bishop Gadsdens Read Cloister.

Horne/Guest, an employment benefits specialties business owned by Brandon Guest, has relocated to 1012 eWall St., Mount Pleasant. Guest recently received his certified employee benefits specialist certification from Wharton University.
