Meeting Street Piggly Wiggly Reopens

The grand re-opening of the new Meeting Street Piggly Wiggly was held after having been closed for more than a year. The new 40,000-square-foot supermarket was rebuilt on the same site as the former store, which had been in operation since 1960. Trident Workforce Investment Board Honors Employees

The Trident Workforce Investment Board, the advisory body of the Trident One Stop Career System, congratulated four “Outstanding Employers of the Year” and honored two “Outstanding Customers of the Year” at their 15th Annual Awards Ceremony held in the North Charleston Convention Center. Terry Kinder, TWIB youth council chair, presented “Outstanding Customers of the Year” awards to Youth Program participants Thomas Murray Jr. and Tessa Huber. Coleman Glaze, TWIB chair, presented One Stop Programs awards to Clayton Dangerfield, Kenya Butler, Teresa Rasberry, Lavonda Phoenix and Johnny Smoak. James Jones, Trident Health System vice president human resources, was honored with the Trident Workforce Investment Board Community Leadership Award for his vision and support of the Community Healthcare Training Program, which trains and certifies Nurse Assistants and Patient Care Technicians.
