Tenia Cattles and John Cattles joined the Summerville office of Century 21 Properties Plus Inc. as Realtors. Tenia Cattles has 12 years of real estate experience, formerly a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties. John Cattles has been in the real estate industry for 11 years, most recently with Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties.
David C. Humphreys Jr. joined the firm of Disher, Hamrick and Myers as vice president and manager of the firms Kiawah-Seabrook office. Humphreys has 35 years of experience in law, banking and management.
Brandon Call, Mike Martin, Anna Saavedra, Ralph Tice and Gene Tschudy joined the Charleston office of Waterfront Properties.
Bryan K. Crabtree, owner of Kelvak Holdings Inc., is the new president and chief executive officer of two Weichert, Realtors Dean-Kelby offices. Crabtree, previously the agencys chief operating officer, is the principal broker at both locations. Crabtree will work from the Mount Pleasant office.
Prudential Carolina Real Estate added several new agents to its staff. Adam Edwards will work in the downtown Broad Street office. Susan Bordiuk and Cyndi Hutson Arsenault are based in the Trolley Road office. John C. Hartman III, Louise Liebenrood Owen and Angel Stech will work in the Clements Ferry Road office. Michael Paradis/b> is based in the Coleman Boulevard office. Cecilia Robinson will work in the Summerville Main Street office.
Alastair AJ James and Julia Kirby joined the Mount Pleasant office of AgentOwned Realty. James has more than 25 years of experience in hospitality in Europe, Africa, Bermuda and the United States. Kirby has a degree in communication studies from the College of Charleston and a degree in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales University.
Susan Shaw joined the Mount Pleasant real estate team of Dunes Properties of Charleston. She has a background in sales experience, including new home sales, media sales and marketing/public relations
Jennie Evans joined the Coldwell Banker Commercial Atlantic International team as the assistant to broker Brent Case. Evans is a recent graduate of the University of Georgias real estate program. Evans replaces Kelley Glenn, who has become a real estate agent, specializing in the office leasing and retail area.
NEW BUSINESS
Patrick J. McDonald formed a new law firm, Patrick J. McDonald, Attorney At Law, on Daniel Island. Also known as Construction Law Services of SC, the firm will concentrate on construction law and litigation as well as real estate, wills and estates, business and civil litigation law. McDonald previously served as in-house counsel at Bovis Lend Lease Inc., a construction company.
Holly Wiegreffe and Diane H. Blackwelder opened Atlantic Planning Partners LLC, a financial planning firm in Mount Pleasant. The firm is part of the Garrett Planning Network Inc., an international organization for commission-free planners who work on an hourly, as-needed basis.
Dave Kay formed Southern Benefits LLC, an employee benefits agency in Mount Pleasant. Kays agency will specialize in group and individual health insurance, including health savings accounts. Kay previously worked for Thomas Cooper and Co.
LifeQuest opened a new LifeQuest Express location off Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant. Tim Sebold and Sandy VanEvery are the owners.
Capt. James Lavanway opened Reel Fish Finder Fishing Charter in Moncks Corner.
ARCHITECTURE, ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION
Stuart Barber joined Goff-DAntonio Associates as an intern architect. Barber is a 2005 graduate of Clemson University with a master of architecture.
Lone Oak Development hired Jeff Reed as project manager. He has worked in the project/construction management profession for more than 15 years.
R. Doug Brown was named Coastal Carolina division president for D.R. Horton Inc. Brown has been with the company for six years, first in home construction then in land development in Charleston and Myrtle Beach. Most recently, he was the division manager in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
NONPROFIT
Bob Jones joined the staff of the Frances R. Willis SPCA in Dorchester County. He is responsible for the overall management of the organization, including public relations and marketing. Janet Riggs was promoted to shelter manager from adoption director. She is responsible for the intake and adoption functions, and the care of the animals.
EDUCATION
Ray S. Jones was named associate dean of The Citadels College of Graduate and Professional Studies. Jones has been acting associate dean since July 2004. Jones also teaches graduate management and organizational psychology. He also has taught at George Washington University and the College of Charleston.
Col. Gregory A. Stone is the new commandant at The Citadel. Stone is chief of staff and deputy commandant at the U.S. Military Academy. He will assume his duties at The Citadel in early fall after retiring from the Army.
Dennis Fosterwas named director of the physical plant at the College of Charleston. He had been deputy director of the physical plant since joining the college staff in 1997.
LAW
Turner Padget hired Lynn L. Crooks and J. Steven Rodenberg for its Charleston office. Crooks brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate law and will work with the firms business transactions, hospitality and commercial real estate practice. Rodenberg will be a part of the firms workers compensation practice. Previously, Rodenberg was a prosecutor for South Carolina in the 9th Judicial Circuit.
Leath, Bouch & Crawford LLP hired Jeffrey A. Barnwell as an associate. Barnwell is an associate municipal judge for the town of Folly Beach. Previously, he was with the firm of Gibbs & Holmes.
FINANCIAL
Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. hired Austin Atkinson as a financial consultant. He was previously with UBS Financial Services.
Pratt-Thomas, Gumb and Co. CPAs promoted Chris Duncan, DeAnna Moss and Steven Johnson to managers in the tax department. Lisa Smith was promoted in the small business department.
Sherry Funk joined First National Bank of the South as a lead teller at the Mount Pleasant office. She formerly was a teller with Carolina First Bank.
TECHNOLOGY
Danica Sancic-Chumley joined Concurrent Technology Canadas Charleston office as a homeland security technology engineer. Sancic-Chumley has a background in weapons of mass destruction defense and emergency medical service.
Nick Matutina joined Millennium Global Marketing Inc., a distributor of GPS tracking devices, as the marketing and advertising manager. Matutina owns Matumedia, a Web design, hosting and marketing company.
Audio Warehouse added Eric Medley to its team of system integrators. Medley is a recording studio engineer with 20 years of experience, having produced more than 300 records.
KMK Technologies named Lane Aspinwall to the newly created position of sales manager. Aspinwall has more than 24 years of experience in sales and sales management. Previously, he was an owner/partner in a Lucent Technologies/Avaya Dealership and worked in the sales departments of AT&T and Sprint.
SunCom Wireless named Deb Mangolt director of workforce planning/management. Mangolt has been with SunCom for four years, previously working as manager, operational analysis.
Verizon Wireless hired Cameron Fairchilds as business account executive in the Charleston area. Most recently, Fairchilds spent three years as a sales executive at Pitney Bowes Inc. in Charleston.
PUBLIC SERVICES
The Charleston County Housing and Redevelopment Authority has hired Kristie Mosley as the new director of the section 8 housing choice voucher program division. Mosley comes to Charleston from Flint, Mich., where she spent several years with the city of Flint Housing Commission in its management division.
AUTOMOTIVE
Jerry Barnett joined Glasspro Inc. to oversee daily operations for Glasspros car wash in Goose Creek. Previously, Barnett was a supervisor at World Market in Charleston. Kathy Mazzei also joined the company as a customer service representative. Previously, she worked six years as office manager for a medical group.
