Roper pitches plans for 50-bed Berkeley County hospital Roper St. Francis Hospital announced plans today to build a 50-bed hospital near Goose Creek. In early August, Trident Health System said it planned to build a 50-bed hospital in nearby Moncks Corner. The state has control over which, if either, hospital has first rights to build. Berkeley County is one of five counties in the state without a hospital.
